Yes Nada and Lina, it has an excellent MP3 player so you can put your own songs on it... and yes, it supports 1GB cards!

The phone is really nice... ask all the owner of it here... I am sure they will say the same. The cam is only a VGA cam... so don't expect profesional results from that.

hey guys
i managed to install java games on my microsd and it worked like a charm but it is running a bit slow i don't know why maybe becoz of the microsd i am planning to buy a 1Gb kingstone Microsd ,, by the way i just got heroes mobile game for this mobile and it is awesome if anyone want it please don't hesitate to e-mail me and i'll send it to you

IT will install them in the MicroSD, sure of that.

i just have a small question ,, i want to know if i can install java games on memory card on C701,, and if i can't will it harm the phone to install games in the internal memory and give me errors like white screen of death or frequent restarts making the phone unuseable ??

I'm thinking of buying this phone it looks good butI have a question. I have a pda and I would like to write tex mesages with it and send it by bluetooth to this phone and then send it by sms, does anybody know if this will work.

I have this phone but the voice is too low. I mean when the phone volume is on max. i can't hear so good. also i have LG and the speaker is set on 3/5 and is louder than this alcatel :( so if somebody have the same problem please tell me because i will send to service this device :( please help

althought its a VGA camera on this cellphone, it takes better pics than my E50, which is 1.3mpx(but I take them at vga),,, its not the size of the picture, but the processing and camera cells,,,
I regret buying my e50, although its a high-quality phone, the C701 (which I bought for my mom) is really nice, headset, microSD, really neat.

I would like to remind all users of this phone that the official maximum capacity for this model is 1 GB. And although alcatel declared it officially, this phone still can hold up to 2 gb of micro sd memory card. Just make it sure that all things that you put into your card are those file that this phone supports. Putting ut .pdf or other files not supported by this phone will result to a very slow performance. And about the memory card brand, the best micro sd brand for this phone is of course the alcatel brand as you can see here ==>>http://www.cellatel.com/acc_microsd.html. Sandisk is also the best but this phone still works fine with other brands.
And to those who expect best picture quality from this phone, this is a phone with vga camera so you cannot expect higher picture quality from this (but this is still best among vga cameras). If you need to have a high quality pictures, go buy PENTAX OPTIO M40 - the 8 megapixel camera or go for a 12 megapixel cannon camera.
