In mobile specifications they said
- MP3/M4a/AAC/AAC+ player(optional)
what did they mean by (optional)?
and what about the sound is it good?
what is the size of the display?why it has 262k colors not 265k colors like all other mobils with the same range?

i have the same experience with honeyjao. same case. it's been a week yesterday since i brought it to mega cellular. i was just transferring files via bluetooth then all of a sudden it turned off and i can't turn it on anymore. i hope that they can fix it asap.

It's very hard to believe that a phone breaks by itself. No manufacturer is doing such kind of phone. Nokia, Samsung, SE and all other brand is not doing that and much much more with Alcatel. I agree with Knight Rider that somebody must have accidentally misuse it while you left it in your home or anywhere far from you.

Sorry to say this but phone do NOT break on their own period... maybe someone else dropped it... without you knowing.

i did not droped the phone on the floor don and Nelson .the phone breaked by itself and my using is very soft

As Knightrider and Nelson said, all phones from all manufacturers has defective units. I've got plenty of friends who had problems with their expensive Samsungs, Nokias, SE etc.. Being using this phone for 6 months now, and there's absolutely no problem with reliability/quality. Go return your unit for a new one and you would not regret it. sorry for your luck though

honeyjao, Don't worry this phone is NOT of bad quality... you phone most likely had a loose connector or conductor somewhere. Trust me when it gets fixed it will be fine!

honeyjao, your decision to return it to the store for repair is right. Let them fix the problem as your unit is still under warranty. Just remember that any phone brand can be infected and be damaged by a virus that usually enter into a phone via bluetooth. This might be the reason why it happen to your phone. But I believe they can still fix the problem.

Can somebody pls help me? My phone suddenly shutsdown and I just thought the battery just need to be charged but when I plug the charger there's no icon that appears telling that it was charging. I can't turned it on after that shutdown and quite weird for I haven't drop my phone to have this problem. I just bought my phone a month ago and now I returned it to the main Alcatel branch to see what went wrong. It's been a week now since I returned my phone but still I can't get any update from Alcatel what is wrong with my phone. They say it might be virus that attacked my phone and they are still fixing it. Does this phone really has a low quality? I'm starting to regret why I bought this phone.

i had this mobile since september 2007 and i loved it very much and if i will change this mobile i will buy Alcatel ot-701.

Been using this phone for 6 months. loving it, except for:
1)as Junnel said, can't download themes
2)slow loading of pictures and videos
4 stars out of five for me!

unnel, this phone does not support customizing themes or downloading themes.

i had this phone since september of 2007,, iloved it,, i love its design.. the only thing that i do hate is that i cannot download new themes.. but over all i love it

I agree with Don and Knight Rider. Even if you do it to nokia phones, it will also break. And it will even result to a warranty being voided. How long will your phone stay alive always depends upon how well you take care of it no matter what brand it is.

circuit board breaking? it's obvious you are abusing the phone. Try that with a Samsung, it will break the quickest.

How did you manage to break a circuit board on the inside? Did you drop it... cause if you did... phones break when you do so.

the mobile is very bad i brought one and the board damaged from inside after one month by itself and does not charge again and i rechange it by other from few day and i find out the place of head phone is not work the same place of charging. sham alcatel

Yes the new models will be the S920 (entrance level high end S model with 3g) and the S925 and S930 (of which I can't tell you anything yet).
