I'm looking forward to order mine. Unforunatelly Pixmania does not operate in Romania at this moment. I've found another one: accs-europe - but I have to wait a few weeks more.

I've received my phone from PIXMANIA, absolutely gorgeous. Sound's enormously good.
Black though, yet looks very good.

I've just got the full version of this PCSuite4.18, it weights more than 400 MBs. I know there is another proposition to get this Suite, mnazam posted it, so you can choose now which one to get :)

Where did you find the SAR values? It's interesting. I'd like to have a look of those, compared to other manufacturers. It will be an unrivalled phone at the moment if your info is true.

The phone is realy nice! It will be soon available in Bulgaria,and I will get ass soon as I can one s853!:) So overall from your opinions,the - are:
-Not-fully compatibility bluetooth
-difficult connectivity with PC and transfering any soft.
-Camera could be better
But for it's money is the best choice according to me.. Little upgrade the micro SD and voala!:D Best signal and battery always from alcatel will be with you+many many more:) Oh.. I almost forggeted.. the SAR information is amazing..
"The highest SAR Value for this model cellphone when tested for use at the ear is 0.2W/Kg"
For comparison for se w800i is 0.67W/kg ,and 0.89W/kg for T610 (all of above informations for SAR are offical,given from the producers)

here's link for download pc suite 4.18. File usbinstall.doc also included, for installing usb driver. it is in chinese, but just look at the picture and folow step by step. file 32mb, zip, because no directx included. Install directx 9 first. tell me whether it works. this file I managed to download while the site still under construction.

I'm not sure who's the older one between us...
On the other hand I'm an Alctel user in the 'real' sense of the word too. I use the Alcatel products since 1997. But we must also know the competition too and this is why some of us must sacrifice and use competitors products for a while from time to time in order to smell where we are...

Lovely trading, nicely done.
Let me tell you as an Alcatel Father to a son. There are many dangers out there. Once you may meet the seductive Nokia N80 and never return back to our cosy home.
I wanted to say that we don't love Alcatel because it is the ultimately best phone. I personally like it because it's the closest to me and I ain't gonna try other phones, as I treet myself as a loyal Alcatel user.
So don't turn off the blessed road, my son :)

I didn't abandoned the ALCATEL brand. Don't worry.
As a matter a fact, I've traded yesterday evening the Motot V3x for two Alcatels 552.
I just want to use as manny brands I can, in order to evaluate them and be able to see the advantages of each other. I aslo have a Nokia 6230i and I'm not happy with it. The power management of that phone sucks.

You shouldn't have abandoned Alcatel, that was a mistake for sure. REAL fans don't do that to their preferred brand :)

I think it travelled from France, as PIXMANIA's headquarters are in France. Secondly, the first place where I was able to track it in Germany, very close to the French border. Well, let's say it might have traveled from Germany, very close to France :)

MPU: Would you mind and send me an email with some pics of the package that you will receive, in other words: the phone and the rest that comes with it? You see I am really curious to find out if Pixmania is really selling a grey phone... while Alcatel claimed it will only be available in black!!
Also a small request to the people that bought the phone already (at pixmania or protel for instance)... Did it come with the remote control included? And does the phone have the option to select Dutch language... MMy current OT753 has German, French, English etc. etc. but it also had Dutch! So I am hoping the S853 has that aswell, that's really the last hurdle that's keeping me from getting the phone online... anyway Thanks people!!!

THWS: I couldn't wait anymore and I bought yesterday (Sunday) the Moto V3x. Well, I must say it's the worst deal I've ever made...
It sucks.
I'm not a little disappointed but I'm even angry with the local dealer... I cannot use the Bluetooth connection for the PC - Phone transfer, but only the USB one. The 2 MP camera is greater than the S853 but I can never use the pictures cause they are kind of blured... Also no FM radio in it...
Just the sound is very good with spatial effect scale.
So, finally after one day of intense use :(
I've decided to sell it today. And wait for the S853 from the local dealer.
