ok thats it, i think they are not authorized dealers...coz if they are, they would really have services available...my place has, thats why, because im far from the service center, it takes 3 weeks at least to hand the phone back to me...im really sad for you...

keenen, 23 Sep 2008like you my friend, is not from well to do family, in fact ... morethey can't repair, that was all they said to me,they did not tell me that they are not authorized but after i brought to a private mobile servise they even told me that they dont want to have a deal with alcatels. Also i heard that there is no authorized servis in my country, only some amaters..
I really liked the sound of this mobile, but that is not the price u should pay if the phone has problems(in my opinion).

you see im so saddened that i cant help you out...but as i have said, pls be patient and try to look for more help...like going to the store whre you bought it...
well i know that for myself that it is hard to get help with this unit...i for one will say it...coz battery and casing is even hard to find, and im so happy that i bought a good phone, good because until now, no defects...do you know that i need to keep saving for more than a year to get a phone, and the one i have was this s853...
i hope the store where you buy it, can really hwelp. coz i for one, cannot be of so much help...
i wanna ask, why cant they help you? maybe they are not authorized...
if you dont buy any alcatel brands, then be it, coz you see im not working for alcatel either...im here to help and make friends...

I am a student and I had to give all the many from my pocket to buy a nice phone, if I had more many maybe I would have bought some more expensive and reliable phone, but that was all i had at that moment. Some people buy phones every month for fun , but some don't.
And now because a unsolved problem happened i have to give more many, but i am sure that i will never buy an Alkatel anymore, neither my friends...

im not really ionto that thing you called, in love with the s853...lol...no...it's just that you see im a poor guy, and having this phone is a second nice phone that i have...for a while ive been using second hand nokia 3210 and 3310...no wonder why, when i came across this one, i like it, the way it made me feel that i have a phone so good...
but mind you, im open that my phone will also be like yours and feel irritated as you when the time comes...but maybe not, coz im doing all sorts of care to this phone...i have in mind that i can treasure this one, and fortunately hand it over to my cousins, when i can buy another phone...
truly im sad, of your unit...like you thre was one user here who said of trashing th unit away...and lol...i and nelson will be there to pick that up...

well i can always call t... moreok it is nice phone for you but let the people know what problems they meet arfer 1 year usage, after reading the opinions here,
not just mine, there was a urer who had the same problem with network key,a lot of users with the bluetooth,batery....
Keep the phone, maybe you will find some other pleasure using it, since you are in love with it.

well that will be your opinion...
well i can always call this phone a nice phone coz it gives me the music pleasure i wanted in a phone...you can call this garbage or whatever you like, but you cant hinder me from calling it nice, just as i cant hinder yopu from calling it as anyway you can...
it is you fault not to check the specs of anything before buying...
there was never any problem that i encountered sucgh as yours, im sad to hear it, but cant help to think that sometimes impatience leads to total disappointment...
if the service center you said cant repair it, then i dont know where you have bought your unit...coz my friends phone when it was software defective was sent to the service center, it takes him a month to get the phone back, and now that alcatel phone is good as it used to be...
better check the store where you bought it, if they are really authorized, coz if njot, that is the reason why they cant be of any help...
and lastly, im sorry to tell you...but this is a very nice phone...have a good day

pls be calm...it doesnt mean that with that p... moreplease dont call this phone NICE, it has a lot of problems,i used it 1 years and problems with charging,short batery time, softver,bluetooth, and now locked and asking for network key.... please, the only good thing is the sound...
The servis cant repair it. so it mean i should trow it in the garbage??????
No because i cant do it ,i will keep it home and remember what a mistake i did when i decided to by it. I am just so disapointed.
Pleae dont reply me if you dont know the solution....and please dont call it NICE PHONE, it is like a anoying sound.....

i can play music up to 6 hours
i can play games for 4 hours
can hold power up to 6 days with only limited texting
no more crahses...coz im patient...heheh

nobody nows what is the problem so it means that the phone done it by itself,the softver locked whitout reason,
i am disapointed, can u help this problem.. if not it stands that the phone is STUPID

Hi Knight, you're right suggesting OT-S853 user here to use only Alcatel Original accesories, that's why I put your suggestion on number one option.

What ever you do, do not EVER use anything other than Alcatel branded batteries in this phone, do NOT use Nokia ones with modified heads... there is a potential risk of explosion. Please use Alcatel only!

if there's no Alcatel Auhorized Dealer/Service Center in your country, you can choose between these three options to buy OT-S853 battery:
1. Buy online from internet (I don't know where and how, Anybody can help?)
2. If you live in Jakarta,bring ur phone,charger and broken existing battery to ITC Roxy 3rd fl at Valentine Battery. They can inject your old battery with new cell.
3. Buy nokia battery BL-4C (for 6100,5100,etc), go to battery specialist to change is's head with your existing OT-S853 battery's head. --> I've tried this option and my OT-S853 works fine for 2 days standby and 1 day with full usage.
