First unzip the files on your PC using winzip... then open the folder and copy the file in there to your phone!

Also Nelson I am loving the Oxford Medical Dictionary!! Thanks my fellow Alcatel buddy!

Your welcome. There are still hundreds to come. I'll be making them available if I can have time on Sunday. OT S853 users who want games and apps should make themselves one of the members to be able to download the games. Big files like dictionary cannot be uploaded there but I have provided links in a free drive. Just inform me if the file have expired for me to reupload it.

To all OT S853 users, please be informed that I already have added lots of games and applications for OT S853 (also runs in C825, S860, and ELLE # 3) in http://groups.yahoo.com/group/alcatelots853/files/. If you are not yet a member of this group, you may not be able to download the files (am not so sure). So why not make yourself one of the members and let's share everything there.

If you mean you need to have the gprs/mms settings, then, it is already provided if your unit comes from versatile (alcatel's exclusive distributor) or from any store which take it from versatile. Just check if your unit have those settings - smart gprs/mms, globe's gprs/mms and sun's mms. Just tell me if your unit don't have it and I'll provide you (although it is already posted on the previous pages). In case you mean gprs activation, just type GPRS ON and send it to 333 & MMS ON send to 333 for SMART. For globe, type GPRS ON send to 2951 and MMS ON send to 2951. After 24 hours, your MMS/GPRS will be active.

i am not alcatel fan, but this is the best phone for people who like sport and music. it has good design like an old cassete walkman. and good sound and rubber surfice. also 3.5" jack just great

In addition, if you have observe it, all mobile phone manufacturers provide only 2 to 4 games & applications because the phone works well with that number. But for this model, 10 to 15 games & apps are still ok. Just replace your old games with new games/apps.

It is much better if the games and applications you load is from 10 to 15 only. You may load more than that but this phone might not read them properly specially if the games are heavy 3d games or apps.

                              Nelson,

Looks like it is cheaper here in Thailand (US$150-160), so I guess maybe I buy the backup S853 here...

                              Thanks!

Oshino... where do you live? Maybe there is an Alcatel service center close to you. You might also try a hardware reset... but I don't think that will work.

About the MMS, you would need to configure the GPRS/w@p profile first, so you need the correct IP address etc. from your service provider. Then you can manually enter that.
