I spend alot of time surfing on my phone, I want to know how good is the default browser for this phone model.
Also someone mentioned about Opera Mini, I have look up the website at http://www.opera.com/products/mobile/operamini/ doesn't seem to have anything mention about this phone model.

To Knight Rider:
I think u can check ur firmware from the back of the phone. remove the battery.
Above (Made in China) or whatever the country u have, u will find a no.
The first 3 digits to the left are the firmware as i think.
I have 169.

Hi guys:
i think one of the most effective factors on battery life for ot-S853 is the external speaker also the connection to the pc.
I started using the remote control set the battery was able then 2 complete 2 days including long talk time & good time also for music & fm listening.
As u know in most of lithium batteris don't leave it till it loses the all charge. start to charge when the indicator reaches final bar of the 3 bars of the indicator.
for my good luck my version is doing ok with sms features (reply and this stuff).
The telephone hangs sometimes during music playing.
The menus are really cool and easy to surf.
If u are intrested in GSM or mobile field parameters (frequencies, power,etc...)
u can try dialing 000000* and check mainteneace info included (available for all alcatel mobiles), avoid changing these parameters.
if this mobile was able to transfer data through bluetooth it would have eaten the market (but alcatel will remain alcatel)

Yes this phone supports Mpeg4 movie files, however I don't know if it supports Xvid/DivX since I have not tried that. And yes if an Mp3 file has an ID-tag in form of an album cover image or a photo of the artist then the S853 will show that image while playing that song.
By the way I have asked this before but no one answered, how do you people check the firmware version in the phone? As some people said they had version 169 or something like that? So how do you check that? Thanks!

Im writing now using my s853, im on my way home now, in a bus heh opera mini ownz! Anyways my phone does support mp3 pics while listening to music.

My phone is still put there somewhere, in between. No info from PIXMANIA, as if they haven't got it. Anyway, if the phone is gone, I will receive the whole insurance which will be enough to buy the phone from Ukraine, eg, as you might have noticed the increased number of Alcatel fans in the Russian forum buy their 853s from Kiev.

try modify image for zoom in, but the zoom in choice is limited.
if u fail in receiving, check ur message center number. if u fail in replying or sending, change the expiration to anything other than never and one hour. try 1 week.
Anyone already download pc suite 4.18 and use it with AMD SEMPRON? Is it compatible?
