Yes infact you can, you can use it as a modem for your computer, but not through bluetooth... but by use of the included USB cable. It should be no problem, as long as your service provider is compatible with WAP/GPRS.

    Question for S853 users:

Can you use your phone as a modem for an Internet access?

I though that I should tell you this, but I GOT MY S853 today!!! And what a great phone it is... real value for money! I bought mine at protel and it works flawless infact, it works PERFECT. The sound is really neat for such a small device, camera is ok (just like you would expect from 1.3 MPIX nothing more, nothing less) AND the PC suite works great for me too!! So no problems at all!!! I am loving it!

              To Eli:

The link might still be unavailable at the moment. I got my PC Suite via email and mailed it to another guy, so I can offer this way of getting this suite. Mail me if you want.

              To zero:

Alcatel is a much better choice. Yet if you are a Nokia fan, Nokia will be better.

                To Alpinoy:
Glad to hear that S853 is available now in the philipines, hopefully they will reach our neighbour in Indonesia soon. I have experience with SE K750i for few days when I bought the phone for my bro in end of March this year.
                My conclusion:
                1. SE K750i have better display -more vivid colour & sharper picture on screen even though S853 screen is slightly larger physically . Surprisingly S853 screen didn't offer any kind of contrast adjustment like my old OT 735 or your 535.However both have same screen res 176x220.
                2. Definitely K750i phonecam still image quality is one class higher than S853. However video quality is comparable.
                3. S853 is a sure winner in sound quality. It win extra big with its superb stereo speaker while playing mp3/video/radio & loud mp3/m4a ringtones. It even make us suprise with an introduction of videotones as a mean of personal ringtone. The speaker of K750i is small + not stereo, however it can still produce quite loud mp3 ringtones (with 'broken' sound/pitch at highest level). K750i speakerphone produce a very low sound quality when comparing to S853- as we all know Alcatel & Sagem are few of the pioneer of speakerphone back to late 90's & S853 excelled in this field. Sound produced when using S853 speakerphone is very clear even if both party also using speakerphone at same time(at fairly quite enviro). However K750i win at good music player equaliser with their legendary megabass function(S853 didn't have any), & more importantly music can be playback when using other menu-unfortunately for S853 only few function can be accessed while music is playing, using other function will pause the music playback.
                4. The most important of all is that K750i
is a very stable phone with very fast response & and hardly freeze/crash/ reboot/hang like my S853. mainly because K750i was introduced earlier & have very good official support for software update from main company. However as you can see in this forum many user complaint with lack of software update support from main company TCL/Alcatel & have to depend on other user to help them.
                5. price for K750i is slightly lower than S853 here in Malaysia, maybe in other country it is otherwise.

OK. Maybe the 32 MB is for OT S860 which is not yet published here in GSMARENA as the OT C850 has higher memory than this phone.

I think the article is missleading, you see originally when this phone was planned to be released (august-october 2005) there was the idea of including a mini SD card of 32 mb with this phone. That, as we all now know, is incorrect information. So I think the article has made an error in claiming that it has 32 mb of internal memory.

This phone is now availabe in the Philippines. I am just wondering why this becomes 32 MB in internal memory. This might be the reason why the released of this phone is delayed. Just see this ==>http://www.mb.com.ph/archive_pages.php?url=http://www.mb.com.ph/issues/2006/04/27/TECH2006042762257.html

                          Marius:

Please let reiterate that my OT 535'S display is excellent than SE P900. Also, my OT 535's sound is much better than SE K750 sound. This is my observation as I have actually compared my phone with brother's phone (SE K750) and my counsin's phone (SE P900). And I think the problem with SE is, they don't have contrast with their display. OT 535 and other alcatel phones have CONTRAST feature.

This phone (OT S853) is not available in the philippines until this time and I have seen my brother's SE K750. His SE K750, as I have examined it, really has good picture and video quality but this cannot be denied because Sony is video/camera equipment popular manufacturer. The only problem with SE K750 that I have observe is its sound. It's sounds is too slow. My OT 535 sound is even more excellent that K750. And I am expecting a comment from you on how would you compare S853 with K750. Also, my OT535 display is excellent than SE P900.

I'm really suprised to find out that the 535 sound is better than the SE P910 one.
Who's making the comparison between the 853 and other SE, please?

Mine does not allow to do anything while playing back. Just watch. No pausing, no rewinding of any kind.
