Wow , I thought mine is the one with biggest bug. I got problem with the X picture but I managed to delete it last time after several try. Other user try not to load your phone to maximum with a lot of pictures. Try to keep some few mb free memory in phone- it may help to lighten up the processor burden.

Yeah, I have contacted my contact person in Pixmania. We have an officially authorized repair center here in Kaunas. I will contact them too. In the morning.

Ouch that is bad indeed... if I were you I would contact the Pixmania service center and/or the Alcatel service center...

By the way how about our German users (German bought phones) did they have some problems aswell? Not as far as I remember... right?

I guess we have a dead Alcatel here.
It is NOT turning on. I tried to delete the folder with a bad picture, it hung up. And now it does not turn on - only the first white screen with the Alcatel logo appears and stalls there.
        Bad news really.

What you could try is to delete the entire folder that contains the picture gone bad, there should be an option saying something like "empty folder"... try that!

            Help, Alcatel 853 users!
I have one photo in my phone memory that turned bad. Instead of a content I see a red X mark. I cannot delete this photo, as the phone hangs and I must remove the battery in order to reload the phone. Nothing works.
Could not remove the photo via soft, the phone hung also.
Anyone faced this kind of problem? I have 260 small resolution photos for my contacts in the phone memory.

              To Demjan:

I've posted the question on the Alcatel-plus forum, here I go again.
Where's your phone? If you are the same guy from Latvia, of course.
PIXMANIA works there. So please go and buy. We'll be able to make a dialog via Skype then.

BTW, here's an offer for those having the phone. Let's talk via Skype. My nick is:

              mindaugasputelis

Find me there and write me an email so I connect to the net and we have a chat.
If it is of any use to any of the users, you're welcome to use this possibility.

So when SW version is same to all, then why it's so different problems.. hm.. Maybe Demjan is right for the languages.. Alcatel's software always has been strong. In the Denmark's pdf file is written Version 2 in the bottom of the s853's "advertisement". Maube the logic for digids in the version from K Wong is wrong.. I can't explain..

I believe it is of not much importance if you have 5 or 6 as the 15th digit. As mentioned earlier, this last digit was considered as spare in the GSM recommendations. I don't know if it was assigned a relevant information in the meantime. What I think is important is the information "V Java 010 01", as it describes the SW version and this has been the same for all of us so far.

My OT853 holds from the morning till the evening. I recharge it every evening.
Actually, this "charging for optimum performance" recommendation is in the manual.

                    My IMEI is: 35669800023882-5V Java 010 01

Actually one more bug was disclosed. To owners: please zoom out, so the text appears smaller. Then go to the diary. There must be at least three diary records stated for the day. Take a look: how many of them do you see in one single screen? In my case it is only two, where the 757 displayed 3. The line below is empty, nevertheless it could easily contain one more record. That's silly.

Guys, if you have same IMEI but bugs differ - try to set down same languages. Bugs may came because of localisation. Encoding problems, special symbols in software code and etc... Try to use same languages for a while!

                                  Hello Azm,

TAC and FAC are identical, SNR as expected different and the SW version is the same. Ergo the phones are identical (assuming that the SW inventory and incremental counting of the SW version is done)

Mine is supposed to be the one with bugsss. My imei 3566980 00 053553-5V JAVA 01001. Any different? The battery will become optimal usually after 2 weeks and they can last up to 3 days with minimal use- ~10mins talk some sms + listening few song with earphone. About bluetooth- I have tried to connect 2 s853 (mine & my wife) & to nokia 6230- they can't detect each other.
