Android 7.0 update will hit Samsung Galaxy Note7 in two to three months

Himanshu, 12 August, 2016

Samsung has revealed that the Galaxy Note7, which runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box, will be updated to Android 7.0 in "two to three months." The revelation was made by Samsung Mobile President Koh Dong-jin.

This means that Samsung Galaxy Note7 owners should get the taste of Android Nougat by October or November.

"It is very important for us to offer up-to-date information with the new OS, but what's more crucial is to build a stable and seamless platform for users," Dong-jin added. "That's why we are planning to do enough beta testing before any OS updates."

It's worth mentioning that LG has already confirmed that its upcoming V20 smartphone will be the first phone offering Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box.

Samsung has never released an OS update on time. So if they're saying Nougat coming in Oct-Nov, it really means its coming in Feb-March after they release S8. Mark my words.
