Samsung has never released an OS update on time. So if they're saying Nougat coming in Oct-Nov, it really means its coming in Feb-March after they release S8. Mark my words.

Is Note 7 supports Android Nougat seemles update?

Thank god samsung. GALAXY alpha was a truly flagship and got android 5.0.2 in april-may 2015. We ARE in AUGUST and september on the way, still september 2015 security patch. No any word of updates. You are going to update note 7 to android N ??? In 2-3 months ??? Good job! Update it and it will be just like galaxy S from 2010 :) samsung made massive mistakes.

      I'm done.

Multitasking wise, a recent video as shown the Note 7 loses by almost a minute vs OP3 and Iphone 6S in real day performance... Gah, if only they optimized Touchwiz the same HTC did this year.

Anonymous, 12 Aug 2016Samsung so slow with updates. I will never buy flagship aga... moreIt is better to be slow than no updates at all. Kyocera sucks at updates, Proscan sucks too, and many other manufacturers are worst than Samsung. That said, 3 months to beta-test a phone is too much

Was there ever any doubt that Samsung would bring 7.0 to their primary flagship?

First of all, never believe what Samsung say about their software update and monthly security patch. My s6e still stuck at March patch and even if Android 7.0 was release for Note7, his "2-3" months for sure referring to a handful of markets or certain variants of the Note7 by then another "2-3 months" have pass after their standard soak test in those markets. As a Samsung users we should all know by now, that their style, lucky if we can get it before 2016 end, if not will be early 2017 at least.

No one who ever owned a Samsung device should fall for this. You know very well that the only thing that will happen in 2 to 3 months is probably Poland getting an update to see how it goes, and then about one month after that a few more countries will get the update. Most Note7 users will most likely get the update by January at the earliest.

If the Note 4 in the UK is anything to go by the UK won't see it until around Spring next year, & no mention as to when the S7 will get Nougat.

I have a Nexus 6P & I could see Nougat at the earliest end of this month, or sometime next month.

I took about 5 months for my old S6 to get Marshmallow in the UK :/

Anonymous, 12 Aug 2016Samsung so slow with updates. I will never buy flagship aga... moreI don't mind if they are slow, but at least give us solid working platforms.
My note edge launched with kitkat. Marshmallow broke a fair bit of functionality. I gather the Edge was something that may have been tricky to implement. But it got very poor support (software) from them.
A lot of what I lost with marshmallow I had hoped would be reinstated with lollipop. It wasn't.
They know poor support for flagships will have buyers buy new units to 'get upgrades' (flagship buyers of notes have no other market option really).
Only thing that makes me glad with new Note 'lineup' is ONLY one model.... oh hangon; maybe not ;-)

Note Edge runs pretty badly that my guess is it must be touchwiz and I have a 'snapdragon' variant. Otherwise heaps of people would be complaining.
I will wipe fresh and try again, but the three people I have showed so far are saying it should be a class action lawsuit; looks like it is intentionally crippled, and vs out of box state.....
I suppose I could reflash kitkat,.. how does that work from a carrier/security point of view?

                                      These are rhetoric I guess.
I will get a Note 7 (waterproof does mean a lot to me, and s-pen is a good enough feature to persevere) otherwise it would be Nexus by HTC (their last one was caught out by hardware/time in history.. ; new one could be awesome!)

SAR matters to me otherwise I probably would go 'Apple'.
Pretty obvious this Note (7) getting a fast android upgrade is to keep sales that might go to competitors...
We will see down the track just how much software support it gets.
                                      Burn me thrice? No chance!
