So that's about two months after release which is perfectly fine. Main question is when the s7 and s6 get it. Would be good if they got it in 2016 at least.

Although I've never thought it was imperative to give fast updates, its not like they're revolutionary or anything. Doze was nice in marshmallow though.

Romie Lee, 12 Aug 2016That's why, Samsung is better than Apple!!!hahahahaha..... Because samsung provides OS updates for older phones as well? because they provide faster updates than apple? Or because they promise to do so?

They say 2-3 months, but what they mean is in 2-3 months we'll update 2-3 countries and then wait 2-3 months to expand the updates to 20-30 countries, meanwhile your carriers will take the time with it, so don't worry, by February-March every Note7 user should be on Nougat.

Since the mobile division is led by DJ Koh, Samsung is really great.

I remember the same thing when Note 5 was introduced subsequently it too many months for us to get Android 6

You know what's funny? I am using my 2 year old Alcatel Pixi backup phone whilst waiting for the Note7. It is running Android 4 on a resistive touch screen, so little RAM one cannot install anything beyond the standard apps and it's not very fast. It cost £20 including £10 credit and a selfie stick, that I gave to someone else of course... Anyway, ALL the Google apps on it run just the same as on my previous top end Android (LG G5). Yup, slower by about 15 fold, but the functionality is the same. And the call quality and battery life is very good.

But the point I am making is that even Kitkat runs most apps. The UX on the Pixi is pretty nice too. Just slow. Soon as the Note7 arrives, it goes back in the glovebox.

Samsung doesnt want to take any chance of LG being ahead and will note7 get daydream and seamless update cause Ive heard only android7.0 out-of-box devices will get these features

So, we may consider buying Note7 after 2-3 months if we can't still find a good replaceable battery phone until that time. It is such a pity that battery life is already 1 year (after 1 year either throw it away, be addicted to power plugs or carry a big power bank or pay a premium to change its battery) and mostly after 1-1.5 year, Samsung stops supporting the phone and leaves it with the old OS.
