Apple imposes iPhone purchasing limit – you can only get two at a time

Michail, 20 March 2020

Amid the coronavirus pandemic, Apple has enforced a new rule for those interested in purchasing an iPhone. Buyers are now only allowed to scoop up two iPhones at a time which is the first time the maker has gone to these measures since the first iPhone launched in 2007.

The limit is already in effect across the US, Europe and several markets in Asia including China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Singapore. Apple is still keeping its physical retail stores outside China closed. In addition, the company is still trying to get back to its normal production cycle after the forced closure of its key partners’ factories.

Earlier this month, Apple informed its employees about a shortage of iPhone parts and replacements due to supply chain disruptions. In addition, the iPhone maker is looking to diversify its supply of ultrawide-angle lenses as its partners are having issues in meeting production deadlines. There is good news though as we recently learned that Apple is slowly getting back to its usual iPhone production capacity with improved lead times.
