am considering to buy 2nd hand Air 2..
would it wise to proceed at this stage (almost 3 years since it was launched)?

Because those are literally the two main reasons I wanted one. I need something good for light tasks like web browsing and reading but also good quality screen and stylus for drawing (not professional) and note taking. I take a lot of notes so a good virtual keyboard is a plus.

As long as you don't care about not being able to use the Apple Pencil or the Smart Keyboard, you should love the device.

I recommend taking it to your local Apple Store and tell them about the issue. Chances are, they'll swap it out for a new one. There's no way you would have that type of battery life unless you were playing high end games the entire time.
