No other tablets are close to how well it is used for drawing with the new Apple Pencil - and the battery lasts me for the entire day without having to plug in. Well worth it, and I put my money where my mouth is. I spent close to $2000 for the iPad Pro 12.9 256GB and all the accessories I need.
Expensive for the normies - go get the cheap ones. Compared to the Wacom mobile PC alternative which cost $2500+, that you have to keep plugging in and with not so intuitive UI, I think the iPad Pro is a steal!

It's relatively cheaper and more elegant solution than a Wacom Cintiq with a laptop, or half the price of a Wacom Mobile computer that can't last for 8 hours.
LOL. I have become an Apple product defender. I love using the iPad Pro for all my daily drawings. I'm not stuck at home so I can make them.

An ultrabook has provisions for cooling whereas this thing (like so so so many Apple devices) does not; thermal throttling is a clear and present danger for any CPU. Ultrabooks with Core i7-based CPUs have close enough scores on Geekbench, assuming (and this is a big article of faith) that scores are comparable cross-platform and cross-version.
A (non-Apple) ultrabook is cheaper and runs an OS which (for all its many, many and infamous failings) is incomparably, incomprehensibly, vastly more useful and usable than any iPod OS scaled up to large tablet size. MacOS also counts.
In terms of competing with a desktop... What if it has to compete with a desktop that has 12 Xeons running at around 3GHz? What if said desktop has a liquid cooling installation? How will the uber-tablet hold up then against such a (similarly-priced) device? Nobody said the comparison had to be fair...

It b... moreMost likely you do not need the Pencil. Oh, no keyboard as well.
There is no big problem with a USB type C as this more common than a Lightning cable system. Apple is making the next iPhones with Type C onwards. Airpods is not the only thing that wirelessly works with an iPad.
Chances are, you do not need an iPad Pro at all. There are tons of Android and Windows variables that non-pro people like you can buy. And there is the iPad 2018 with Pencil support.

This iPad Pro is the ultimate PRO cash grab device.
It ban mouse usage, so you will buy their pencils that they change every year.
It ban jack, so you will buy their airpods so you may enjoy privately.
It ban lightning cable, so you are awed by the new usb c charging plus external display. So you need to change new chargers everywhere. Btw.. when you buy a 30watt charger, THEY did not even provide charging cables!! You have to buy separately!! ..
They ban you from exchanging a bent iPad.. so you will be encouraged to buy a new ipad.
Sorry, since Apple want to focus so much on profit.. You will not even have a single cent from me. Boo Hoo.

I still use a phone with a headphone jack but I sometimes use Bluetooth earbuds. I guess they're just salty because the last iPad had a headphone jack and this one doesn't.
