Yeah they can add all those gaming features u mentioned and maybe an xbox 360, ps3 and sqeeze in a wii ey. Dont b stupid! If u want a console buy 1 dont expect a slick fone 2 be an xbox come on.

okay so. i own this. I am moderately satisfied but not overly impressed.
i think apple could wipe the floor if they did 5 simple things.
1) Put a directional pad where the home button is like conventional phones.
2) Increased the camera efficiency. (5mp will become the new standard very soon).
3) Place two buttons, much like the ngage, above the screen.
4) Came out with great games.
5) 3G
This would allow them to:
Take away the cellphone/all in one market by offering the friendly platform, multimedia and gaming experience, which in turn places comeptition towards not only all other phones....but the PSP, Game Boy DS, and Nokia Ngage.

nobody finds it funny at all. No-one ever did. in fact its probably the worst joke since whats brown and sticky.
but i can see allans point. everyone here goes on about "Wow its apples first attempt". well its also garmins first attempt they do have a far better equipped device than this one.
you know that with apple you're always going to get a product which is missing out basic features.
the ipod never had a radio and could only play 1 video format (get in!)
the iphone also cant forward messages and cant MMS.
ur all better off buying nokias. they know what they're doing, and when they release a touchphone, well, need i say more? it will be awesome and actually do something.

Look Dude, my girl has the iphone, it really sucks. she can barely text with it. It has good look but not easy to operate. i would never spend $600 to by this piece of s--t.

This is exactly what I was talkin about ages ago, the iphone has raised the bar when it comes to mobile phones, so instead of other companies just fobbing us off with upgraded versions of previous phones there now coming out with things like the Sony Ericsson X1, I personally I dont think it will be better than iphone mainly cause I dont like the slide out keyboard and it wont have such an easy usuable interface, cant say for sure as I havent used one, but the x1 is certainly a step in the right direction.

@apple. Look at garmin nuvifone on google. This will be coming out soon. This is their 1st cell phone and it's a hell of alot better than apple 's first attempt.

I bought the iPhone about two weeks ago in the UK, initially the 8gb version... I have to say looking at it in the shop was cool enough but when you take it home and actually have to use it as an everyday device it will never cease to amaze you!!! Apple have done an excellent job on the UI, everything from adding a contact to setting an alarm is so easy!!!! Then the 16gb version was released and well... I just had to have it so i traded in on the 14 day policy and paid the difference. Every single person i show this phone too is blown away... Internet speeds are bearable in the UK without any edge or wifi reception and browsing is better than any other mobile device I have ever used!!!! All it needs is flash... My previous phone the w950i has just been squashed into the ground by this, nothing can beat it... Well worth the money!!!

Just remember...this is apples first time at making a mobile, and what a mobile it is...sony ericsson has been making mobiles for years and finally its came up with something to be better as good as the iphone...but has no where as near memory for music, movies and video podcasts...so i believe the iphone wont be killed off by the new xperta or whatever it is called which sony ericsson has just released... also by the time the XPERTA comes out to the market the Next Generation iPhone would of been announced which most likely will have the new 32GB Flash Drive built in with a new Higher resolution camera.....be honest apple is going to eventually become the best mobile company in the world...it will dominate as it did with the invention of the iPod..... Just you wait!.

like the SE W580? u shake the phone and it will forward to next song?
btw iphone users, have a question. does ur alarm on the iphone go off, if you have it switched off? mine dont seem to work. or maybe im doing sth wrong...

the iphone 2 is in pre-production. I work for a sister company who provide the tft screen technology for the iphone and we have just finalised the last design spec.
We only see prototypes and design notes though i can confirm it is 3G, 32Gb, shake activated shuffle, same size, same width, slightly lighter, video..yes video!
The main marketing will be behind the 'shake to shuffle' and larger size.
Will not be out in States untill summer, Europe just after Christmas break if production deadlines are met.

I applaud Apple for giving the entire industry a wakeup. Now, they can go back to dominating mp3 players or start carving out a niche market with iPhone. Just because it looks cool or is advertised heavily doesnt make it better. The guy next to u might look better than u, does that make him the better man? iPhone was a double edge sword to the industry. It might get worse if companies start getting stingy adding basic feature and develop a close minded philosophy and ecosystem like Apple. Apple didnt invent the wheel. A phone or mp3 player doesnt start or end with Apple. Open your eyes, lookout the 'windows', and use a braincell for once.
