I hate apple, but I'm still gonna get this phone because they're gonna push how cell phones are gonna be in the future. Touch screen! Its been around forever and only a few phone has applied it. Yes they can improve on some features which can be done later in the future, but its their first phone! Its gonna make a dent/profit in the cell phone industry. Ah congrats to LG KE850 Prada a proper way to answer to the iphone. Figh fire with fire not like motorola that just put out more garbage! Seriously if you support(touch screen) this or not its gonna happen I just prefer to have it happen sooner not later.

so can someone explain to me what is so revolutionary about this phone. im still puzzled all of the features this phone has you can find on other devices. the nokia n91 was not the best phone ever made but it can do everything this phone can do and more. im just lost someone please help me. it just seems like its missing 3g (thats a pretty big hit on its own) expandable memory, software support, im sure it wont have Upnp, and at its price at least a gps modual. i see they are trying to play off google over the air maps as navigation... its just not. its an old trick. nice try apple. saddly they will sell off the shelves. that is one phone i dont look forward to selling. btw i am a cingular rep ;p

Comments about the most advanced phone on the market ever.
That is really funny since many phone have lot more features than this one. have you not read any specs of any phone at all.
Of course it is a cool looking phone and a thin one too. It has good functionality and tat is all to it. nothing more.
Look at N95 (I am not a Nokia fan at all) it has all the features of this and much more in a compact package. It can hold 2gb, has GPS and all the connectivity options out there and a 5mp camera.
Of course apple can do something like that very easily in their iphone but their profit margins of 100-150% will be affected by that. The iphone costs between $200-250 to make and they sell it for $600 with a 2 yearr plan and if you take into account one can get a Samsung blackjack for free at Cingular a $400 conservative value, then it makes the iphone a $1000 affair.
So people out there think this is the best phone on the market, I can not say anything except, Apple got you with their flashy skin.

It should have a memory card McGJ. It is not an absolute necessity but it is five years ahead of time according to Apple.
It is meant to be used as a handheld PC and not jut as a phone, that is the point of Mac OS X.
If McGJ would prefer a laptop or a desktop with 200gb - 2tb of hard disk but no CD/DVD/BD/HDDVD, no floppy drive, no card readers and pay $5000 for that computer then I will be happy to pay $600 for iphone.
For this category of phone and its price range it is absolutely necessary and if you believe it is not then you are just naive.

god at last apple made a phone ... which is sooooo gorgeous i love it tho ... and the function is superb .... except no 3g ... its worth to buy one ... u r so true tho even the price is like $20000 i will buy it ... everyone out there its worth buying it trust me u wont regret LOL .. i never regret buying apple product ...esspecially IPOOOOOOD LOL ... ipod heat up my life without one i will be dead long ago =D

Why the hell are you guys complaining about that it dunt have a memory card!!! its internal memory is "4"GB or "8"GB that is more than double of the best(in size) memory card for best phone ever in market,so i think THATS ENOUGH MEMORY AND NO NEED FOR EXTERNAL ONE!!!!!!!! come on "8" GB !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is phone is extremely GORGEOUS!! OMG! It got everythings in it (Except 3G). 4GB is adorable for a phone.. I cant wait for it to come in Asia! lols :D

it's surely the BEST phone in the world... when it really reach our shores in Asia (maybe mid/end 2008)... but i hope apple would release a no-phone ipod based on the iphone specs before that... maybe mid 2007 (while they release the iphone in the US)... so we could familiarize with new, revolutionary multi-touch UI... and may be it will be harder to tie up with operators in Asia compared to the US...

Five years ahead of time, according to APPLE, phone batteries will last for only five hours and not removable immediately. Actually it shoyuld be around 20 - 40 hours talk time takin into account the recent advancements in battery technoilogy (that is in five years).
I think APPLE should start focusing on their products user frendliness rather than mocking all other phones on the market. I like their products look and cool factor but are crippled in many ways and treats users as idiots

I meant no flash in the previous post.
Memory card slot would be much helpful so one can transfer stuff wihout connecting the device to a computer and for the stuff u do not need in the phone for only a few minutes
Another thing it has the APPLE connector, crazy people put a standard USB interface, retards.

Phone looks great and soft keys makes sense to me, atleast.
Not a standard screen size 640x480 would have been much better
No GPS, google maps does not tell you where you are in the middle of nowhere and probably you need the data service to use it
Apple says that it is fdive years ahead of time and it uses a two MP camera with flash, funny
Editing office documents, PDF files, VOIP through WiFi do no how it will be implemented since it uses Mac OS X
Voice dialing and voice recognition for typing can easily be included since it runs Mac OS X
I would not get this untill it has atleast the GPS and proven toughness.

hey brandon, yeah ur absolutely right about the sound quality is going to kiss a$$ big time, but about the touch screen man...u gonna like it for the 1st few week, after that, u gonna suffer typing the sms's u gonna get fed up of it, u'll end up just calling ur contacts hahah, iphone should make a mini keyboard to it, and make it look good on it.
