I've had at least 3 models of iphones, and they all degrades (especially at battery and software update does make older device slow)

A friend would like to buy an iPhone 12 256gb. He now has a Samsung J6 and he finds very difficult to synchronize it with an iMac (aka backup foto+videos). I already explained him there are multiple ways to copy your data into a macOS. But we would prefer to be 'plug-and-play' like an iPhone does.
The only thing he doesn't like from an iPhone it's the fact he can only use FaceID to unlock it. What about COVID and masks? Already saw a video which shows you can't unlock an iPhone 12 with a mask on (lol). Also he seems not very happy to pay €1100 for it.
I've no idea what real alternative there is. Unfortunately Samsung S21 here uses Exynos and told him to stay away from it. I told him to check out OnePlus 8T which would be less expensive (€699) but also a bigger phone and worst camera.

Ngl, I wouldn't mind if every Chinese smartphone company started to copy the 12's design.
Chinese companies are good at copying, so let's see them copy this. I am happy to see the day where today's curved phones are (yet again) replaced by sharp defined contours.

I think apple do hot spot better teathering. batteries and IOS handle with no degrade of things. Old saying you get what you pay for...... i use my 4g now for internet and all media needs along with ipad is all you need for 4 years Win WIN!! .....
Android however degrades and old yucky microsoft windows pc and glitchy buggy hardware.

used it almost 2 months and here is the review ..
performance is just great no lags at all
battery is great as it lasts a full working day with wifi on
oled display is just awesome
cameras are next level
if someone dont need 2x optical zoom .. iphone 12 is the best option and it'll last for coming 4-5 years

They are both expensive, and what if things aren't as you expected?
Samsung is too overrated for its display and iphone as well for the brand name.
If I were you, I would look for more cost effective options available from midrange android or used old iphone (if you just want to experience an iphone)
