It's not like they are selling only the mini. They were very smart and will increase their market share by filling that empty left by other manufacturers who stopped producing compact phones.
Following your logic, 95% of consumers have hands so big they can easily use a 6,5" device with only one hand. Apple shouldn't have spent money on research, they should have just listened to you

although being not a fan of apple products,congratulations to them releasing a nearly compact phone. but missing with useful features like radio,phone jack and memory stick slot.
i hope major android manufacturers follow the same route.

Why they can... moreYou're forgeting that Apple chips are very fast, but also very efficient in power consumption and iOS is highly optimized for that hardware. Get the SE 2020 as an example. If you forget about specs and serch for its battery draining tests in YT, you'll see that it offers 5~6h sot, more than 6h in some of them. It's not any good if you compare it to bigger phones, with bigger batteries, and OLED displays but imo what the SE 2020 offers is pretty amazing for a device with a tiny 1821 mAh battery and LCD display. And the 12 mini has an A14 chip that is supposedly even more eficient than A13 and OLED display. So, don't worry yet, wait for the battery drain tests.

Well done Apple, a nice small compact powerful phone. I wish the Android market wasn't so dumb and would make something similar instead of churning out endless shovels.
