joe nodden, 19 Oct 2020You don't know what the battery is gonna be like until... moreWhat massive price tag, the galaxy S10e started at $749 and 5G phones have been selling at a premium, besides it's the cheapest iPhone 12, iPhone 11 series started at the same exact price as last year.
As for small phones they were not selling because simply because they were not being made. For many users that had to buy a larger phone, they hated them, no wonder SE 2020 sold like crazy, the phone has nothing going for it other than the SIZE and the reputation for quality. $400 is no bargain whatsoever for a smartphone.
Why don't you quit the fortunetelling business, SE 2020 trashers ended up ridiculed and forgotten.

Any mobile, whether it is Android or iOS, will have poor battery life if connected to a 5G network because, today's 5G chips are power hungry. Some lessons have to be learned the hard way. Though Apple is aware of this fact, they introduced all their iPhone 12 lineups with 5G, just to satisfy consumer's expectations. Though, I am not sure of Apple's 5G chips in particular, I firmly believe that it is also a chip produced by humans and not by GOD. Let's see.

Anonymous, 19 Oct 2020Copycat android manufacturers will bring some better small ... moreThough Android mobile manufacturers may try to implement a small form factor device, it can only be a bad dream but, can't become a reality just because Android mobile users are more concerned about battery life than anything else. A small form factor mobile can't provide room for bigger batteries, with which it'll fail ultimately if implemented.

stereo speakers, camera , oled , processor ,size, battery not sure till now but i m very happy to know this is coming now , after a long time some dared to release a small size phone which is a requirement of a huge population .

joe nodden, 18 Oct 2020There's many more important factors that go into buyin... moreI don't really think so, because a lot of cheap phones sold last year are mostly 6 inches plus in size (brands from xiaomi, realmi, oppo etc). Another factor that need to be considered is the battery size. people looking for large phones are usually equipped with large batteries that can last the whole day or two but smaller phones might not last a single day.
That is probably the reason why samsung ditched the s10e in favour of larger s20 series this year.
I'm not sure about iPhone 12 mini though, since it is smaller than the SE 2020 but with larger display and those magsafe built in, i think battery might be smaller. Then again it is apple, it might sell like hot cakes just like the iPhone 11 and 8.
But let's say this 12 mini did sold well, android manufacturers might follow suit in making smaller and lighter sized phones which might be great since not everyone has big hands. Probably next year might have a lot of size options for android phone.
Then again they might also remove the charger just like they did with the headphone jack. lol

small size with 135g weight.. what a dream compact phone.
i remember using samsung A5 which is 5" and 130g, it feels fantastic.
nowadays sony makes the so-called compact xperia 5, which looks like a bluray remote.

Additionally, the 12 mini had higher daily interest on this site than any other iphone for a decent chunk of time, only recently being beaten by the 12 pro max in terms of daily interest but still higher than the 12 and 12 pro.
People are clearly interested in a decent small phone like this one, this is despite it costing significantly more than the similarly physical size iPhone SE 2020 or iPhone 8 which have smaller screens. People want a phone they can easily use one-handed without old looking space-inefficient large top-and-bottom bezels (iPhone SE 2020) or low-end internals (most small Android phones), if the interest was mostly down to price like you are considering, then people would be buying the SE 2020 instead due to being similar in physical size but much cheaper.
In terms of physical size, I think most people out there are buying these increasingly large phone options because there simply isn't a smaller flagship alternative, with those who genuinely want the bigger screen getting the "XL"/"Plus"/"Max" model instead.
