Certifications for three batteries t... moreBecause of the Telephoto and LiDar scanner being on the Pro Model I'd make an assumtion that the 2,815mah cell may actually be within the Non-Pro 6.1", given that the extra camera hardware will be taking up extra room within the top corner of the phone the 6.1" Pro will have a slightly different circuit board design as well I would think, consuming battery space.
I'd say..
5.4" 12 Mini - 2227mah
6.1" 12 - 2815mah
6.1" 12 Pro - 2775mah
6.7" 12 Pro Max - 3687mah

From macrumors.com:
Certifications for three batteries that could be destined for Apple's iPhone 12 models suggest the iPhone 12 lineup could perhaps use batteries with lower capacities than the batteries in the iPhone 11 models.
The three capacities include 2,227 mAh (perhaps for the 5.4-inch iPhone), 2,775 mAh (for the 6.1-inch iPhone), and 3,687 mAh (for the 6.7-inch iPhone). A separate filing for a 2,815mAh battery suggests that the higher-end 6.1-inch iPhone could perhaps have a slightly larger battery. Comparatively, the iPhone 11 Pro has a 3,046 mAh battery, the 11 Pro Max has a 3,969 mAh battery, and the iPhone 11 has a 3,110 mAh battery.

Anonymous, 14 Oct 2020So in terms of comparable pricing the 12 Mini is actually r... more5G in so many phones these days despite being necessary atm is due to wanting to solve the chicken and egg problem of networks not rolling out 5G because barely any phones having it and barely any phones having it because networks not rolling out 5G.
By having a lot of the new phones support 5G, the networks have more motivation to roll it out. It's not necessary in phones atm agreed, my point is that it will be an increasingly accessible benefit in the future thanks to this approach.

Anonymous, 14 Oct 2020Battery size?We don't know yet. I expect it to be smaller than the iPhone 12 non-mini, but not substantially worse battery life... at least I hope not.

JoshuaReen, 13 Oct 2020Is this the low end version of the new gen iPhone? Not really - it's the same specs as the non-mini iPhone 12 apparently, just smaller and maybe also a smaller battery.
In other words, no, it's not the low-end model of iPhone. It's almost the same as the iPhone 12 in terms of specs. Purely from a pricing perspective however, yes the mini is the cheapest new model iPhone in their lineup.

kim, 14 Oct 2020which is better: 12 or 12 mini? They're the same except for the screen size, battery size and price. For one-handed use, lower price and just generally easier to put and remove from your pockets while sitting down, get the mini.
If you don't care about screen size though or intentionally want a bigger screen however, get the iPhone 12 non-mini. Battery life between the two will likely be similar (maybe half an hour difference or so, not meaningful in daily use. Wait for reviews and benchmarks though, that number is just a guess)

Anonymous, 13 Oct 2020Same design for 5 years. And iphone fan boys are exciting. ... moreI don't think you need to change the design when the chances for making it worse are higher.
I would like to get rid of the notch though. And I liked the old style iphone 4 the most.
