Xperia 5 IV is more ... moreYou really don't need expandable storage anymore when you can get terabytes of storage via cloud (you can get atleast 100gb free these days). My find X5 has 256gb built in with another 150gb and I've got thousands of pictures and tonnes of 4k video from 2 concerts I recently went too and barely used any storage.

Yeah headphone jack was annoying to lose (thanks apple) but you can get 3.5 jack dongles, most android companies offer them in the box still that work fine unless you have a pixel phone (my last phone the pixel 6 pro wouldn't accept my £200 headphones through a physical connection, that's a terrible phone).

8k recording on a phone is pointless aswell, why would you buy a £1000-£1500 phone with fixed lenses and not enough SoC cooling vs a dedicated camera/lens with the proper hardware to record? I mean if you're a proper professional film maker and not some Instagram influencer throwing up 10 second tiktok videos on the side you're going to choose dedicated hardware for the job otherwise linustechtips would just use samsung phones to record their videos instead of 8k/12k cameras (Samsung just love pushing the 8k gimmick to people who have 1080p/1440p phones and at best 4k tvs with their 8k video recording). A cropped raw recorded 8k video would get beaten by 4k recording with A.I. And computational video using a phone to record any day of the week.

Yet other have n... more4k footage can reach several gigabytes and you need fast swappable storage on location when shooting. The iCloud is never an option. Apple is advertising this phone being used in harsh conditions, probably in places without cellular connectivity, and again, iCloud is not an option. You need storage cards. That's how it should be.

                Real "pro" cameras, however, even include dual card slots for storage.

                        Nowhere near a "pro" device. Xperia 5 IV is more "pro" than this. All the functions that a real Pro needs are: expandable storage and a headphone jack. Why? Common sense: you need a space for all your footage and be able to record high-quality audio. If you're really into "pro" functionality, this isn't for you.

                        I also like to point out the enormous power of the A16, though. Why not give it an 8k recording capability so that real "pros" would be able to crop footage without losing quality?
                        No expandable storage.

                          I have read some reports from China. Camera results are not any better than 13 pro.
                          So much for the " best software" some ppl claim apple and samsung have.

                              When i got my XS MAX 512 GB the Retail Price was 1700 EUR. I got it via my phone operator with a 700 EUR downpayment and 2 years of contract.

                              If I want the 14 Pro Max 1TB the Retail price is 2100 EUR. This dish is becoming to spicy for my taste even with deals from my phone operator.

If you don't want that, go get some cheapo Androids and I'm sure you'll be fine with it.
