So what changed? For someone like me who uses iPhones for filmmaking/videography, I don't see iPhone 14 (Pro Max or otherwise) being better than iPhone 13—besides, that is, that it does Cinematic Mode in 4K/24fps and 30fps, and the 13 does it in 1080p/30fps.

I think to be honest. Apple is the best choice for the professional person as it has better software support. Although I find the android platform more flexible if a little consistent.

The pixel binning mode on the iPhone 14 Pro seems to be fairly conventional. The manual raw mode of retaining 48 megapixel images seems quite unusual for a smartphone.

Even though these are below type 1 sensors in terms of size it should be better than without any interpolation. Bigger images and higher resolutions aren't really practical at these sizes.

Me personally I would never purchase an iPhone.

The difference between 14 pro max and 13 pro max is the same as difference between S21 and S22, yet I didn’t see people bashing Samsung for it. Hating on Apple is trendy, that’s all.

I see no point whatsoever in a folding phone. I'm upgrading to iPhone 14 Pro Max 1TB and giving my last iPhone to my Mother - and then giving the last iPhone I gave her to my dad to upgrade him.

Guys, I would just like to address some opinions posted here by bypassers who are uneducated on this topic.

The iPhone 11-14 are NOT the same. This shouldn't be a question. Just because the design language is very similar does not mean that nothing changed between the generations. Have you seen the jumps in power efficiency? Their improvements in low-light camera performance?

Dropping 29 mAh from the battery is NOT a downgrade. 29 mAh would barely be noticeable even if the technology in the last two generations were the exact same, LET ALONE with the efficiency improvements that were brought this year with the new A16 processor and the new LTPO displays which can refresh at a new all-time low of 1Hz.

For those complaining about the lack of 8K recording, I'd like you to be honest for a second. 8K currently sucks on most mobile devices that do have it, and even in ones where it is acceptable, there's no practical use case for it. It's really inefficient for something like a mobile device, especially on those that don't take advantage of microSD expansion. Apple is using the same strategy that they have been for years now. They're going to spend a long time trying to perfect the technology, instead of releasing it early and making it look and feel the exact same as every other Android out there. I can GUARANTEE you Apple could've easily released a phone with a hole-punch display the same year that Samsung did, but that would be boring. Common. It would go against the design language of the iPhone, because it's meant to stand out. So what did they do? They spent 2 years perfecting Dynamic Island to stand out. Why did Always-On Display take so long? So they can perfect its efficiency and make it stand out. It has little impact on battery life and looks cooler and more unique than every other AOD phone we've seen so far, even though it took them years to create the technology.

The only decent complaint I've found in the comments here are relating to the lack of a USB-C/Thunderbolt Port, but it's already pretty much confirmed that they'll be switching to USB-C with the next generation in 2023. They don't really have much of a choice with the new laws in the EU.

I just realized how much I sound like an iSheep, sorry that wasn't my intention haha

All I ask is that you please do your research and consider things from a business and design perspective before complaining.

They downgrade the battery by 29 mAh from it's predecessor

Every year Apple is good at convincing their loyal customers/apple devotees, that how to be happy without any new updates.

Apple is really stubborn until the very end of lightening cable cycle because they make a lot of money out of that. No USB-C on new iPhone, no buy for me.

Akame, 11 Sep 2022How about the iPhone 12 Pro, thats quite similarthere are no tangents there you see? no two circles are touching each other..just accept they copied .okay?
