See if you can take it back to where you got it from to see if they can fix it.

Need help.
I bought iphone 3G 16GB two days ago in my country ( Cambodia).That one was assemble in China. It worked with all phone card in here. It looks smart.
I connected to Itunes to syncronize. It send message to update to version 2.2.1 ( my iphone os version is 2.2). After updated my iphone can not be used any more.
It appears the message of non compatible sim card.
Please help.

Anonymous, 28 Mar 2009isn't the operating system just "iphone os" not "mac os x"?Yes iPhone OS is slightly different because of hardware constraints but at it's core is the same kernel based on NextStep.

apple iphone 3g all the way .superb.app store superb and not been bored at all since i had original iphone .apps for everything including mms and copy and paste this summer with new 3.0 update.you wont regret it ....

nobody... moreAn open market that has less available applications than the App store, even though it's only been around for eight months and WinMo applications have been around for years.
Then there's the issue of compatability with different versions and different hardware.

WinMo is... morethe appstore isnt necesarrily a good thing mate,
nobody can just produce any application and put it on there. at least with windows mobile it is a completely open market.

It will be interesting to see if the Dolby sound of the LG Arena will change that.

Where as if you are more interested in surfing the net go for the iphone using the net is extremly easy and user friendly.

Palm Pre OS is based on WebKit too, and uses Widgets not full blown applications...
...last roll of the die for Palm, if someone don't buy them they will soon be gone.

WinMo is bloatware c**p, now matter how much it's dressed up it's still like putting lipstick on a pig.
I remember Steve Ballmer saying at the launch of the App store that WinMo had 18,000 applications available the App store passed 27,000 the other day and is adding more, 800,000,000 downloads in the 8 months since it opened it's turning into a $billion a year business, $700 million to developers, $300 million to Apple.

The iPhone OS is fundamentally older than that being a derivative of unix->Mac OS X. Old OSes designed for one type of computer and having mobile functions layered and piggyback on them.
Symbian, however, is develop from EPOC32 which is a dedicated OS for mobile devices introduced in 1997, containing superior multi-tasking and efficient use of minimal host hardware.
It is still the best small device OS and it had touch interface in 1997. Yes, 1997. 5,5MX, REVO.
I hand tested speed of the Iphone with the 5800... (although a restive screen,slower cpu, half priced) the 5800 was faster once pressed but the Iphone was ziggy zaggying graphics before coming up.
