R, 10 Jan 2009Hello. I have few question for Iphone 3G? I have contract... moreas long as your iphone 3G is legally unlocked, meaning you bought it unlock in an authorize apple sellers. there will be no problem with your plan and line with your AT&T.
legally unlock iphones can update software and will remain unlock.
dont buy iphone not sealed, it may have been hacked to unlock and definitely will lock again if you update the software.

unlock means you can use any sim card.
jailbroken means you can install any third party application not available in apple applications.

Pepsi, 10 Jan 2009Also the plans have changed since that video came out. The... moreYeah, after three months all the iPhone plans changed with Optus, mainly because when they had brought it out they didn't know how competitive it was going to be.

The iPhone is cheaper than an N96 both outright (more or less) and on a plan, yes everyone complains about its price.
Seriously, (again, off Australian prices) you're looking $500 to $700 for a general 'free on a $49 Cap' phone outright. The iPhone 8GB is only $800 Prepaid, and think about all the stuff it can do. The N95i is more expensive than that.

So now that price is no longer an issue....

And I'm with you Pepsi, no more of this no bluetooth/MMS nonsense. I've posted on it about a million times, so for you newcomers to this forum, read back through the near 300 pages of people asking the same question before you follow suit.

            Many thanks, lol.

dispite all the bad talk about talk this phone may recieve, usualy by those who havent even tried one, it is by far one of the best phones ive ever owned. ok, bluetoothing stuff back and forth is a drawback, and so is MMS, but i cant really say i depended on these features massively when using my previous 8800 and N95 8gb. i have jailbroken and unlocked my 16gb iphone from 02 to use T mobile in the uk. EVERYTHING works as it should, which is excellent.touch screen is brilliant too, which is why it was so attractive to me because its so sensitive. texting is an absoulte doddle once you get used to it!
and i was ALWAYS one that was against touch screens full stop. what other phones offers such an array of apps free and purchasable, a briliant internet browser. its just awsome and i couldnt ask for anything more. i have a phone, mp3 and mp4 player in one not to mention a fully featured net browser.
                        nice once apple.

Tim, 10 Jan 2009Hi, Sounds a daft question but will the iphone work with a... moreYes, it will work with a bluetooth headset or car kit but only for calls.

I use a dock connected to my car stereo to playback music and wear a bluetooth headset, when a call comes in the music cuts out and I take the call on my headset using it's answer button.

When I end the call the music resumes.

had this for week and as good as it looks and feels at first the novilty soon wears thin and the issues that hold you back in terms of phone use soon shine through i.e. bluetooth issues, mms issues, battery is short lived and the functions soon become anoying and frustrating. I have now exchanged the iphone for a blackberry curve which is a lot better in regards to its use as a handset, organiser and web access. the battery life kicks the iphone out of the way and the media is just as good in my opinion and its free to get.

I was on the $69 cap and was going over every month, I'm waiting now for the bill cycle date for my plan to kick over to the $79.

$10 more for an extra $210 of calls and 150MB of data isn't too bad, now I'll have $400 of calls left over at the end of the month instead of the usual $200.

Vodafone's plans for iPhones are pretty good really. The $79 gets you $550 worth of calls and 400MB of data, excess data is charged at 12c per MB.

That's pretty good if you go over your allowance. I don't know what all the fuss is for.
