It's a great phone if your uses are limited to basic calling and Ipod features.
It's inadequate if you need repeat itineraries, like inspections, meetings, hearings, etc. that need to be posted on the fly since it doesn't have copy/paste functions. Nor is it good if you need to forward quick mms pics for site evaluations (emailing attachments is really a suck if you have to do that regularly).
So it is useful depending on your needs. At the moment, it doesn't meet my needs since IT IS NOT A BUSINESS PHONE. Nokia and Samsung are far better business phones right now.
Cheers!

I work for Telstra in Aus this is a poor effort from Apple. I have seen 3 iphones out of 10 I have sold come back faulty/frozen and had to be replaced. After hands on experience I wouldnt touch this phone. For and Apple this really has pathetic storage space and the lack of 3G video calling sucks. Myself am looking forward to the X1 with superior resolution and push e-mail. Avoid the iphone if you dont want a headache.

Vicky, 29 Aug 2008Friends i eagerly want to buy the iphone 3g but i m confuse... moreHi in reply to your questions. Iphone 3g can send sms and you can connect to a bluetooth headset. It can't send mms or take video's though. It could of done with a better camera(only 2mp) and there is no flash. But i am not atleast bit put off by this, no phone is perfect! This is in my opinion the best phone by far! Nothing evens comes close to be honest. No other touch screen phone works as perfect as the iphone 3g. The internet browser is first class! GPS is also a nice feature. As well as being the best mp3 player with the ipod function another great thing is the App store. This is were you can download thousands and thousands of free applications such as games etc. Don't listen to all the negative comments coming from people who don't even have the phone!

Anonymous, 29 Aug 2008Both iPhone 1G and 3G have wonderful displays. With superb ... moreAre you blind? Are you jokin that nokia doesn't surpass the iphone? nokia n-series and e-series have wonderful displays also. The screens are also bright (same as iphone)even though they are smaller than the iphone. Some of the smartphones or pocket pc's I own are n93i, n95 classic, an IPHONE. The n93i (it looks like a cam corder)(have you seen one yet?) takes pictures and records video dvd like quality...same with the n95. With that said, the only way the iphone will surpass the nokia n-series and also samsung phones is upgrading the camera and adding a powerful led flash or a xenon flash and also adding the missing features that were mentioned already. So, if you do the math for the iphone.... missing features + an upgrade camera with a powerful flash + a large touchscreen = one powerhouse device.

I am Reading All of Your posts and am wondering...
I own a nokia N95 and a iPhone. The devices are great, each one for itself. Both have ups and down. But i cant tell you which of them is better or which is worse. You have to figure it out for your own. It is so simple, if you dont like it dont buy it, but dont try to make me think its a bad product cos you think it is. I used the nokia phones for a while now, most of the smart phones with symbian on them. Why? Cos you can do what ever you want with it if you know how. Why Im now using an iphone, because the Os(operating system) is great. With some internet skill (google it for havens sake) and some free time you can do almost anything with an iphone as well. And i mean AnyThing, same Like the simbian os. The iPhone is a great peace of tech for ME and i like it, YOU dont have to LIKE IT, But please dont Mud it too Much If YOu dont own one...
