I am lucky to review phones and thus able to receive them at low costs, but the 3G iPhone so far has not lived up to the promises of Apple. In my opinion, they are beginning to do the same thing they did with the iPod: put a phone out every so many months, adding 1 feature at a time. (first there was the touch wheel, colour, video, etc.) so it's keeping you invested in Apple.

Whereas I (and many users) prefer to have a phone that will last maybe 4-5 years max before I can heartily give it to my young ones knowing I used it to its full potential.

Anonymous, 11 Jul 2008no got the iphone g3. do u think the n95 is better then rea... moreOne thing I missed on my first review was that the N95 (and some other n-series) has the Internet Call feature, which basically allows me to use apps like Gizmo to make calls using my internet connection when I am outside of my coverage area and don't want to roam.

So far however, I've been mainly using Vodafone since I use their SIM cards and I can easily switch my SIM card when I am in Europe or when I am in the US. This is the thing that iPhone lacks, you cannot switch contract and you must roam. Imagine my bill if I am to use it in EU!!

The setback is that the N95 is quite costly, about 4-5 times more than the 3G. But it does offer amazing capabilities. I was glad in my first trip with the N95.8 in Europe because I was able to do Video Conferencing, since the N95 has a 2nd camera in the front. Unfortunately, companies in the US have not implemented that feature but it was amazing to talk to family while seeing them in stunning quality (they have N95 too)!

Now you've made it clear. That's an honest and better opinion. And I wasn't attacking you, but as I review phones a lot, I tend to see comments that are least useful to the rest of the people - so I'm only trying to see what you really think of it.

It is about $15 higher with AT&T, so about 7 pouns. Maybe O2 is the only company to keep the plan the same. However, in its primary market, the US, it's higher.

The 3G iPhone does actually run your bill higher than its predecessor.

You say you don't know why people are slating the iPhone 3G. Can you read? Can't you see people complaining about the contract, the camera, bluetooth, the lack of new features except the 3G?

I respect your opinion about the iPhone, but you should certainly state that it is the only phone you have ever (possibly) bought. Have you tried the Nokia N-series models? The SonyEricsson models?
