Was considering the iPhone3G (1st gen iPhone was lacking in just about everything), but disappointed again with the 2nd gen iPhone as it also lacks some simple features.

Now looking at Samsung OMNIA or SE X1 which have more advanced features - the OMNIA almost embarrasses the iPhone3G. (3rd gen iPhone may be better hopefully).

Hey Nokia fans, tell me when people will line up a week ahead for a new Nokia model :
It Has Begun! iPhone Line Forms At NYC Apple Store (AAPL)
          Dan Frommer | July 4, 2008 7:25 PM
It's a week early, but a handful of people are already in line at the 5th Ave. NYC Apple Store for the new iPhone 3G, which goes on sale next Friday, July 11.

          Engadget:

Right now, about ten people have started a line outside of Apple's flagship store on 5th Avenue in New York. Word is that the family at the head of the queue are attempting to break some kind of record which involves their baby -- which kind of sounds a little intense if you ask us.

ALL OF THESE THINGS ARE ALREADY FIXED WITH READY-APPLICATIONS!

MMS will come in an update just like sending messages to multiple people was.

            Theres video recording software already

I bet there will be an app to have a landscape keyboard as well!

Everything will be done with software :D

developers are scrambling to make programs for the iPhone because Apple made it so easy for them. and with the App Store, they have a direct access to customers right there on the phone.

the only advantage Symbian and Windows Mobile have over iPhone OS X apps is the number of apps and number of developers but that will quickly change in months ahead. the iPhone will have the best third party applications catalogue in the game and they'll all be secured from hackers who will someday soon begin targeting smartphones and PDAs more severely.

the App Store will be for the iPhone what iTunes is for the iPod. it will help drive growth by offering iPhone users like me something they can't get anywhere else. then we'll get hooked and never want to leave. then we'll be buying only iPhones for the rest of our lives. it's brilliant.

Developers are more interested in programming for the iPhone than market leaders Symbian. The iPhone will have more programs, which will be supported by the network.

Any used any A-GPS type phones before? I am wondering how reliable it is. I am disappointed with Apple for not building 'real' GPS chip. Why have a network service GPS feature. I am using the Mio A701 and I'd to get the iPhone, but I am not about to pay $10/mo + time fee for the GPS. I knew Apple would add the GPS feature to the 2nd Gen iPhone, and I kinda knew they would add the A-GPS...it's all about $$$$.

Could any one confirm whether IPHONE 3G would be launched in UAE. Secondly, i have heard that the phone does not work in MUMBAI is it true. Finally what is the difference between IPHONE and IPHONE 3g and is it ok if the iphone is unlocked or does that has some bad impact on the phone. Thank you
