In my opinion, the strategy for Apple is that the first iPhone was meant to create suspense and attraction to the iPhone, to create branding for the iPhone, and thus there was limited release in only a few countries. It can be possible too that discussions with other telcos were also slower initially.
The iPhone 3G seems to take a different approach. The price is cheaper and it is avaliable in many countries. It seems that the iPhone 3G is meant to be mass market, to create demand and generate profits. Thus the design has not changed much. It is my opinion that Apple is using the publicity generated to sell the iPhone 3G, not so much to continue to raise the brand, but this time simply, to create profits.
The real upgrade of the iPhone should come around next year, I believe. This iPhone might have the strong features and have a more radical design.

If you believe me, after you use iphone, let say 2-3 months, and you buy other phone, im sure you will come back again to iphone, as happen with me..I had iphone before, and i didnt like it because no mms, and video, i return it and i buy n95..I used about 15 days n95, and again i go back to iphone, because iphone has a some thing special, but we cant see it.

just making a point. im shure itz realy cool phone to have and a nice lil gajet. but apart from the look of the phone, the toch screen and the fact that its also an ipod its not the grait and not that top of the range! but im shure it will b a fun lil gajet to have!!

N95 good phone , ok ok , but remember, we live in 21st century and they still making FAT phones ? cheap plastic ? loose slider? when i was talking on the phone n95, lets say in the mall or public places, all people was watching me and asking this...Hey where you get this FAY BOY phone? see??

I had that stupid fat phone N95...You think you smart ?..That phone was cheap plastic materials, and slider was stupid loose..After one week i sold it, because it was FAT phone ugly and loose slider...The best phone is IPHONE that's it...

what a heap of crap i use the n95 8gb that i got before i got the crappy iphone which i sold on ebay on a 1 day aution no reserve, thats how disappointed i was. if you're thinking of getting a new fone n95 8gb all the way i have it pluged into the dvd player in my car and can watch films and listen to my 20 days worth of music and take the internet wherever i want. i love macs but what a wasted effort. or you can think you know it all and buy this piece of crap but you will have nothing in comparison to my n95. i was especially disappointed that i could not send mms and the camera quality does not compare to the samsung d600 and almost the d500.this fone seems to be a data storage facility rather than a commuications device. glorified ipod!!!!
