i thought iphone was cool.
but 2 megapixels, no secondary camera, and suckish looks.
very disappointing.
by the way apple, SE released 8 meagapixels.

Or, maybe just a poor education. If not in the US: the AT&T spiel was a bit worthless. And with regards to the impossible: Seems somebody has not been keeping up with the news. The iPhone 3G is slated to be released in various countries unlocked. New flash people: Many countries don't have a contract mentality. They use a prepaid system or pay-as-you-go system.

im in australia n have ... moreIt won't be $199 outright in Australia. That is the price on a 2yr contract in the US. It will probably be free on some sort of plan in Aus either with Voda or Optus. I work for Voda, and there is no release of pricing plans yet. They will probably be out in another week or two.
In regards to colour, no it won't come out in pink. It will be in black (8/16GB) and white (16GB). You can however buy pink, blue, gold etc iPhones from some fashion phone outlets, but they are only the older gen iPhone at the moment.

You actually recommend people choose Windows Mobile over the Apple OS experience? I hope you are there to tech support those folks. Just because it says SE or Samsung on the label will not prevent the disaster that will ensue from a Windows product.

Yes and no. It will cost you and extra USD200 only if you take the one or two years subscription contract with the mobile operator, partner with Apple. Like AT&T is the US.
If you want to buy the iPhone without any subscription, thats impossible, its not for sale to the general market.

im in australia n have been reading over ur comment and all say that the iphone is $199 in 8 gb does anyone know if that will still be the price when the phone is brought into australia on the 11th july? please tell us as if so ill start saving lol and also i read it comes in pink wow really??????????
does anyone know if the picture is any good? and has the touch screen played up for anyone yet?

My advice, if you want the multi-touch, get an iPod Touch and either the SE Xperia or Samsung i900...

Hey Steve! I bought the 2G iPhone and it SUCKS! Sure enough, the UI is great but there are so many features missing that it's scary.
Give me freakin' MMS already! It's a tiny feature that you could have implemented ffs.
And what the heck is up with a 2 MP fixed focus camera when SonyE is releasing 8 Mpixel!?
Where is my stereo bluetooth support?
Why can't I send contacts from the phonebook?
Where is my video recording support?
Why can't I use any MP3 as ring signal?
Aaargh, I feel totally ripped off. Never Apple again.

It will only work with a headset. And, this has been known for a year! It's also known nothing has changed with regards to this particular spec.

Delete me if I'm wrong, but I don't think this can use regular bluetooth, like for sending data to other phones. It will have its own, Apple-exclusive means of phone-to-phone communication. That's what I heard.

If the price is posted twenty-seven more times it will have more validity. LOL

and closer to 150 i think if you have a contract with AT&T and renew your contract.

They lowered the cost so more people could buy but actually here in the US it almost costs the same if you factor in the cost of the monthly fee/plan that AT&T charges. They increased the data plan to $30/month.
