Update: No more guessing, folks. There will be a source for black market 3G iPhones because there will be some carriers that will sell it contract-free with pre-paid cards. Vodafone Italy have announced their iPhone 3G prices with pre-paid cards (no contract, no monthly fees). The iPhone 3G 8GB will retail at 499 euro, while the iPhone 3G 16GB will cost you 569 euro. Well, tables have finally turned and it seems Europe (instad of USA) will be the place to get your black market iPhone now.

Does anyone know if you can send/receive picture messages? also can you play normal mp3 music or do you have to buy itunes. sorry about these questions i may be a new iphone user so i just want to get some info.

i didnt say iphone 3g was cheaper than other phones i just said iphone 3g costs more over a 2 year period than iphone gen 1. and another thing i 4got to mention: isnt this one of the only 3g phones without videocalling capabilities? it definitely is one of the only 3g devices which cant record video. compare its specs to that of all other smartphones and u notice iphone is behind. if u want to compare specs compare it to htc shift, advantage, nokia n96. bcos it has worse specs than others doesnt mean ppl wont buy it tho. got 2 admit it has a great UI.

Hey, has anyone got any idea about support for quicktime/realplayer/flash plugins to the browser?
Is there anything built in already, or possibly rumoured to be on the way?
If it was, that would put the iPhone even further into a class of its own!

Apple are lagging in the phone industry, look at other companies, they copied iphone's design and made better phones (Samsung I900).They should have better quility camera, HSDPA 7.2 and sell the phone all over the world! so we do we have to crack the damn phone.

how can you say one is a complete phone over another? ...
i've been a windows mobile / uiq3 fan for a long time ... i still have all my smartphones and use them once in a while but i say the iphone operating system is just much better ...
every is complaining about the limitations but these limits are easily broken by applications ... again people are misguided and people keep on shouting out their opinions which isn't really useful to anybody else because of the lack on knowledge that most have shown ...
before posting an opinion, please make sure that you have thoroughly compared the different devices and just not comparing these devices based on the specs from websites like this ...

BOB, 12 Jun 2008gud looks but i was expecting more. they hv had a year and ... moredude .. that's not apple, that's AT&T... why don't you look at the data plans of the other smartphones? ... US$30 a month? .. that's not bad if you get another smartphone it's $39.99 ... a month ... now do that math ...
why can't people be thorough with their research and opinions? ...

Hello folks... I just whant to say that iPhone 3G is not better in specifications than i900 Omnia. The only problem in the Samsung phone is the display... less resolution and less colors. I also have to say that Samsung made a wonderful an very complete phone. I really apreciate it. Thanks for all. Go Portugal!!! Sorry but I'm portuguese and Portugal is doing a wonderful Euro 2008.
