Steena, 22 Mar 2010Can anyone tell me if they have had any bad exp with the 3g... moreThe touch screen is very organic and fluid on the iphone 3gs. People who have never used one and have used other touch screen phones are really missing the experience of true fluidity with the iphone. I have had my screen lock up a couple of times already but it seems to go away within seconds and is really not an issue.
The great thing about the touch screen on the iphone is how natural and comfortable it is to use, there is no learning curve whatsoever. It is very straight forward in this regard. What I also like is that you wont accidentally dial anyone or end a call early because the phone can sense when you are holding it vs when it is against your ear. This comes in very hand actually.
It is a nice device I just really wish it was a better phone. I live just outside Manhattan and I have endless amounts of dropped calls. I already mentioned that I have switched off the 3g so the phone would be more stable and it is on EDGE.
As for the neophyte that keeps repeating himself stating GSM Arenas review about the iphone 3gs' sound quality I wish I could slap you, you a such a little b*tch of a man. You come here with your holier than though attitude brandishing esoteric statistics and kindergarden verbiage thinking you are impressing someone or that my the mere mention of your "facts" the reality will go away.
I have the iphone 3gs and so does my gf, I have used numerous cell phones and am somewhat of a techy. I know what quality is, I know what good sound is. The GSM Arena review is complete bullocks trust me on this one my friend. There are numerous phones on the market now and in the recent past that blow away the iphone in reception, call quality and sound. This can easily be realized if you compare the sound components on the iphone 3gs vs other phones. The fact remains that the speaker on my Motorola v8 was significantly better in every way. It is not even comparable. The iphone 3gs is not the end all be all of phones. Even Apple has admitted they need to improve the phone part of it. Hopefully the 4th generation will be free of these shortcomings.

Can anyone tell me if they have had any bad exp with the 3gs? screen, Batt, repairs in the first month?
Ive had my N97 fixed 3 times and want a new completely diff phone, over it! haha

Android, Symbian, WinMo = Operating systems on many different mobiles, all competing against Apple. Yet Apple still reigns.

All jokes aside, the iPhone is 100% evolutionary. It set a benchmark for touchscreen phones. It is changed the way people wanted mobile phones. Touchscreen phones were not as common as they are now, all thanks to many people buying iPhones. Apple has clearly influenced the way mobile phone manufacturers made their phones. The iPhone satisfies so many people that mobile phone manufacturers started to create phones which were based on the iPhone.
Trust me I wouldnt want to go to a Nokia or HTC forum to say anything about their phones, as I 100% happy with the iPhone and believe its streets ahead of all other touchscreen phones out there, inc the HD2. If you like the HD2 and think its better than the iPhone, thats your opinion. I think the iPhone doesnt need to have extra features which the HD2 has, as the UI is better on the iPhone, as well as the overall phone being better than the HD2.

You have a HD2, which is a matter of choice and in your opinion a better phone than the iPhone. In my opinion, and also of many others, the iPhone is better. Why? Because its far more user friendly. Its revolutionary. The Apps are fantastic. And its fun! IMO the HD2 is bulky, it has WinMo (uuuughhh) only 65,000 colours, dodgy flash support.....an iPhone beater it aint!
Now you coming to an iPhone forum to try and justify that your phone is better means really that you know the iPhone is a superb phone. I mean why come here otherwise? There is more chance of snow happening in the Bahamas than me getting a HD2. In fact the only HTC phone id even consider getting, which is still no better than the iPhone on the whole, is the Nexus One. But im very happy with the iPhone, which im sure many are too :)

Im starting to feel sorry for PGJT, it seems like he/she really wanted an iPhone but ended up getting a Samsung Jet or LG Viewty or Nokia 5800 (no disrespect to either phone, their good in their own way) and is trying to justify not having the iPhone by bashing it. PGJT, let go of the anger. We're not brainwashed buddy, we just have a superb gadget called the iPhone and we have to express how good it is. If you save a few pounds/dollars a week, you never know you might have saved enough money by xmas to get an iPhone. Dont be upset with your phone, I know its not as good as the iPhone but you will get an iPhone one day, im sure of it :)

Apple don't care about their us base clients, because even when your contact is up with at&t they still will not unlock your iphone permanent, but you could go to canada walk into a apple store & buy a iphone unlock & then the choice is yours as to which network you would like to go with
