Kingo, 02 Feb 2010I really loved my iphone 3gs at first 3 months after spent ... moreDon't believe this person. He/she is lying.

First of all, you complain about how hard it is to get to an app after you've downloaded 140 apps to your iphone. Hello, haven't you heard of the searchlight feature on the iphone. Also, why? Do you know of any smartphone that can display all 140 apps on one screen?

You are also wrong in saying that the iphone is dependent to a laptop. You can start using the iphone right after you leave the Apple store and never have to hook it up to a laptop. But then, any smart person would want to back up all data from your iphone to your laptop, hence, for the purpose of better data management, it is better if you hook up your iphone to your laptop at least every other week or as necessary.

This person just wants to promote his/her nokia device.

is it really worth getting an iphone? they seem so complicated, are they easy to use and do you find you end with extra charges at all, maybe for internet usage?

Mitch, 02 Feb 2010I know about the clock alarm snoozing. What I want to do is... moreYeah snoozing calendar stuff would be cool... But I guess it's not really much of a deal breaker for me.

As for jailbreaking, as long as you're careful you should be fine. Use Blackrain with 3.1.2 and it should work, then get SBsettings, backgrounder, kirikae, and then anything else you want. Just google it. Also GSMArena blog area has a post about jailbreaking, along with 10 good reasons to do so.

I used to have mine jailbroken, but after the battery went out and I got the phone replaced, I almost bricked the new one by jailbreaking, so I restored and its fine... But letting you know that stuff can happen, so do it at your own risk. Goodluck and let me know how if you have problems.

          About the jailbreak itself...
          I've jailbreaked my iPhone once.
It's superfun actually. U can install ANY cracked aplications and customize ANYTHING in it.

In other hand, its battery drains faster, caused by more memory usage, and aplications usage, obviously.
It get really hot sometimes, and feels a little unconfortable to.

I've restored it to it's original state (factory like)
Then yes, jailbreak can be UNDONE.

I am a little sceptical about jail breaking my phone. After reading about other people’s experiences about jail breaking, I have doubts. However, I also read that I can reinstate the phone to its original settings as when I got it from my cell phone provider. Any thoughts on this?

iPhone OS 3.13 has been released, if you have a jailbroken iPhone DO NOT install it as it fixes the exploit Blackra1n uses.

It has a few fairly minor bug fixes.

you can snooze your alarm easily, I do it every morning, and there's even an option to enable or disable snoozing. Also, if the lack of multitasking bothers you so much, just jailbreak. It allows you to customize anything and everything, multitask, and everything you can come up with. In fact, there are probably more themes available to iPhone than any other phone, but only when you jailbreak. Give it a shot, just use blackrain, google it, let me know how it works for you.

Help Please, 02 Feb 2010I heard that the phone has to be jailbroken to install home... moreYou can tell if it is jailbroken IF cydia or Installer is available. Cydia is what allows you to install third party apps and whatnot. If you jailbreak you will be able to multitask and do all kinds of stuff, but just be careful you don't mess up. If you mess up you iphone and it won't work, come here and I can help you fix it, or just google a solution.

Also, the iphone 3GS's camera is very good, it has a decent resolution and good image quality.

I really loved my iphone 3gs at first 3 months after spent nearly USD1,000 in my country.

Then love faded out little by little and i believe some other owners agreed. First, after i got over 140 apps it took me ages to reach the app i want and swipe my finger like crazy just for a little task.

Secondly, no multi-task. I knew that it doesn't have one but i thought multi-task is not a must have. But jesus, day by day it annoys like hell and it's called a SMART phone around the world.

Thirdly, the camera. I really kept trying to take pictures with so-called touch focus and it's just not practical in real life especially some fast shooting moment. What hurts most was when we had an accident and wanted to took pictures, i managed to get two shots while my friend managed 9 shots out of his N86. And what's worse when you open it laptop, the photos from my iphone are crap compare to N86 is just like from high end digi cam.

And finally, i can not live with my iphone without marry to a laptop while others who use other phones don't have to. I mean, what can you do if no laptop. Others can transfer photos, files, delete data on the move...

                                Keep swiping...then

I think the iphone should come out with the frequency's 850,900,2100 mhz for country's like australia europe and new zealand but over all they are a great phone and im looking at one if they come out in 900,2100 mhz witch is the main frequency's used for umts in australia by most cell phone networks
