I LOVE this phone. I've been using an iPhone for 2 years, since 2007. i got the 3GS in June and I love it more and more each day. The most enjoyable phone I've ever used!

but that's not the ... moreActually I really like the Hero, as in my opinion there's too many people who is using iphone (which including me now). but i just cannot wait for the donut to comes out. Yesterday, when i was trying to use the map, it didnt work at all and i was totally lost in somewhere i have never been to.
I think why the hero won the year of phone is becasue the 3gs is no big difference to the 3g, and the 3g was last year's product, so in the point of innovation, the iphone 3gs loss the battle. but i have to say they are both very good phone and i am keeping my hero for a spare phone to use.

I think you all the people that IPhone can not compared to any other phones all around the globe.
It has a different class & experience. Every function has a different mood.
I use it and it far better than any other mobile in this world.
All the other touch screen mobiles companies trying to copy the class of IPhone but surely they lost.

but that's not the case. Since HTC Hero won gadget of the year by T3 magazine, beating 3gs.
And oh... HTC has confirmed that they will upgrade Hero to Android v2.0 eclair that will enable bluetooth FT, full flash support, real life google maps, and proper file manager.
Sounds like my Hero is a decent phone and I won't trade it to ijail experience. no offence.. :))

Youtube has never looked "blocky with artifacts" since the N93 released back in 2007 wich was not a touch screen phone and neither does it look now on 5800 or N97 because both of them have mothe than twice the processing power required by adobe.
But not having flash and not beeing able to view most video sites is not so bad since you CAN atleast see youtube.
With a firmware this http://tiny.cc/iPhone337 buggy youtube should be the last of your concerns.

Flash video with these settings will typically play back at around 12 frames per second on a 200MHz ARM9 phone or device."

I bought my 3gs yesterday and i really like it. i ad a htc hero before for a month and it drives me crazy. the phone is slow, google is bad even i have updated both to the latest version and firmware.
for those who's nseries, jump to iphone, the n97 is not even in the same level as htc hero, and iphone is just better!

i DON'T know why you keep mentioning N97 over and over again. It's not even the same class as iPhone.
If you compare iPhone to keyboarded phones, you might awell start comparing to ones without touch screen or grayscale, it makes no sense.
But, I don't own a 5800 but i've seen the many video sites on one including youtube.
Go with your pc on youtube, right click on the video => disable hardware acceleration => notice the pixels & pixelated edges.
No pixelated edges on symbian, neither on youtube, neither in any of the other formats you can play on it.
Please stop missinforming and lieing on public forums.

-they actually look worse because the screen resolution is very small and as the iphone doesn't handle flash so youtube videos are converted on the go with loss of quality. Flash supporting phones take advandage of HW acceleration just like iPhone but many even have the codecs to play avi, divx, mpeg etc.

-Most phones out there above 600$ record D1 or even HD.

Sound quality is superb.

I realise its always better to go thru a car stereo via 3.5 jack or fm transmitting sometimes.
