You must be confused of simply can't settle in for simplicity with a style. See the trend Samsung, LG and even the once arrogant Nokia is following the touch screen era not to even mention application based phone. Basically you are dead wrong. iPhone looks basic cos it is designed to be simple yet filled with a world of wonders. Like their music function, gee I wonder why Nokia even bother to introduce their music edition when it sounds like trash. Like iPhone camera, I also wondered why others introduce 5,7,8 or even 12 mega pix when the images of a 3.2 mega pix is far better and clearer. All thanks to iPhone's camera optical engine not the mega pixcels, get it.
And the list goes on... Just a shame to know how iPhone is overtaking Nokia's portfolio with only 2 models competing with loads of junk models from Nokia.

Apples does not produce nor basic tools. They simply produce smart and simplified tools yet useful to many. If your are an Apple user, be it iPod, iPhone, Mac or iBook, they all have a same objective, only the slick and smart yet sophiticated personality deserves an Apple product, cos they know Apple are innovators and the rest..... just adoptors of followers. What a shame.

      YouTube clips look better on the iPhone because the GPU is processing an h.264 stream unlike Adobe Flash-Lite which uses the phones CPU to play lower quality videos.

        Touch to focus and balance light levels it works well.

        VGA video @ 30 fps matches most phones out there.

          -the gpu is still pointless, the price for a handful of games is ~5 hours of batt life. It is pointless.

          Would have never imagined someone sacrificing half the battery life for games, on a mobile phone...

            Hi there I think that iPhones are the worst phones ever.I would prefer buying an nokia,lg,samsung rather than spending money on a useless phone like iPhone. Sorry but the iPhone sucks.
            1.No memory card slot
            2.A very bad camera
            3.Bluetooth that you cannot send files
            4.no radio
            5.the worst part is you have to have iTunes to put files which is anoying

                          Anonymous, 19 Nov 2009Is WiFi a basic feature? None of the basic phones have i... moreIndeed the N97 only has HSPDA 3.6 but I don't see what keyboarded phones have to do with non-keyboarded or why Nokia is always the "target" to wich this forum so much aspires.

                          PowerVR SGX is a nice "touch" but no 3D application makes use of it, the camera does not go above vga and the iPhone codecs don't allow our most common HD video to be played.

                          So in the end PowerVR SGX is something that only eats battery and for the time being, gives nothing back. i8910 has it also, for quite some time and developers simply don't care since they always have backwards compatibility in mind.

                            None of the basic phones have it, phones with WiFi cost more.

                            The iPhone has WiFi.

                            Is HSDPA @ 7.2Mbps a basic feature?

                            The iPhone has it, the N97 doesn't so ist the N97 more basic than the iPhone?

                            Is PowerVR SGX graphics another basic feature that the iPhone has?

                            Nokia must make very basic phones if even the N97 which is one of their best ones lacks such basic features.

                                      Well you must agree with this that it is due to the iPhone introduced by apple, that has changed the way NOKIA and many other create their newbies. Just think of, had apple does not introduced iPhone, we were still using old technologies marketed by nokia and other.

                                      HATS OFF to iPhone. Atleast other changed their ways to think.
