i remember here in argentina phones did not have nothing and this one had camera of 2.0(phones were vga) MP3 and FLASH!non phone got this by that moment, well motorola v635(best moto of all time) yes...
w800i was the last full phone of sony, then there came k series. Motorola got bankrupt and nokia mmm i dontknow what they did by that moment

Hey people, The iPhone 3Gs is the best touch screen only phone around as of right now. Is it perfect? No. Can it be better? Yes. Is it missing functions? Yes. Remember Apple, just like Sony, Nokia, LG, etc are in the business of making money short term and long term. None of these companies will ever make the perfect phone, eventhough each one of these companies could make the perfect phone today if they wanted. They need us to be just a little bit unhappy with missing functions, no flash, low camera res, no video calls, etc. Every phone out there is missing something, just so when they add it to the next model we will buy it. It is a marketing plan every phone company uses and they play it very well and we spend our money. Sony lover will get the next sony and the one after that and it will never stop, Apple lovers will do the same, LG, Nokia, we all will do it phone after phone after phone. And no phone will ever be the best, otherwise we would stop buying. We can argue apple is the best, sony is the best, nokia, lg, but none are and none will ever be, because they done want us to stop buy. So everybody, just save up your money for the next phone you'll have to buy.

Leace the Iphone for us. Iphone is one of the best phoen out there includoing Blackberry. This is why all Samsung, Nokai, LG, and HTC all tryign to compete with Iphone and copy Design too. Have you look new Omnia 2? Good luck with your phone.

poor audio quality using ipod on it
rubbish speaker, not loud enough
no file transfers using bluetooth
no amoled screen
average video recording

The pictures would look worse than 3 megapixel images, because the sensor would have to have more sensitivity in the same size, which translates to more noise. I don't know about your phone, but the images taken with mine are quite grainy enough.
You want an 8 megapixel camera, buy an 8 megapixel camera.

D1 video recording
AMOLED screen
stereo speakers (decent volume)
a specific audio chip for good sound, no rubbish ipod type sound!
div x compatibility
and a decent OS !!!
Come On !!
decent browser!
and Bluetooth File Transfer
come on Apple, who are you fooling with this Lame release!

Again a sad phone i dont know why people buy this, yes if you are a kid who just want a play phone. Buy the Samsung Jet og Samsung Omnia 2.

Look and better try other high end-phones. Maybe you will really discover how high tech 2009 works.

Please be more specific, ie: what is "best" about it's specs compared to similarly priced phones?
I tire of reading nothing but blind loyalty to what is nothing but a substandard handset.
There are now reports of speaker problems with the latest one, upon reading the link displaying the problem on the forum one person talks about the countless times they have brought back earlier handsets due to faults, I don't understand why these people will get another of the same after repeated bad experiences.
