[deleted post]This time, I have to side with TL5m. He worded his query in a civil manner, so we should try and respond in the same way. It is the only way we can get the discussion proceeding in a good way. No use me telling haters to mind their language when the iPhone fans are guilty of the same thing.

[deleted post]Seriously, we can actually have a discussion without resorting to such insults. Please refer to TL5m, who's comment I feel is a genuine concern. The key thing is he has voiced it in a reasonable manner, which in turn I reply to, with my opinion.
Because of his approach, I don't even care whether he is an iPhone lover or hater. It just becomes a civil discussion. It would be good if you took his example. We all would benefit from it.

Anonymous, 05 Sep 2010No, I am saying that by cramming as many features that are ... moreI am not saying you are wrong. Apple may be right in excluding the FM radio, or they may be wrong. If they made a miscalculation, supply and demand would take care of it, and people will not buy it, and move to a phone that fulfills their demand.
For me, that's why I am happy that competition is so fierce right now, no matter who wins, we the customers are the ultimate winner.
I prefer iPhone right now, as I don't listen to radio. Another customer who maybe listens once in a while, may buy an attachment such as the iFM for occassional radio listening. Yet another customer, who loves radio, may not buy iPhone at all, and get an Android/Symbian phone instead.

Anonymous, 05 Sep 2010So from what you are saying apple doesn't care about its mi... moreNo, I am saying that by cramming as many features that are useful as possible, and eliminating certain features that can be added with simple solutions, it becomes the most cost effective solution. This is of course based on each companies research and what they feel fulfills their target market.
No matter what, there is no perfect phone. If we followed your logic, even all the Android phones would be identical, yet there are major differences even between phones from the same brand, ie Xperia vs Xperia Mini, Galaxy S vs Wave etc. Why is this so? Because they are targeting a certain segment of the market, and trying their best to fulfill the needs of that market.

Anonymous, 05 Sep 2010FM Radio is available as an option for those who want it. I... moreSo from what you are saying apple doesn't care about its minority group of customers..that's really bad..also its another way to buy their another product by which they get more money..if a costly mobile is not able to provide radio(as you say the minority) for free then y go for this..even 1 million people if they don't buy it what will be the loss it will be huge

iPhone 4 may not be for everybody. Another way to enjoy iOS4 now, is to keep your regular phone, and buy an iPod Touch, which is a compromise even I considered.
Only thing you would miss out is the 5MP camera, but you get FaceTime, full access to the App Store, with all the games and great apps. All this at half the price of an (unsubsidized) iPhone 4.

[deleted post]Believe it or not, some people do actually own the devices they talk about here, which is why we are able to give more detailed information, unlike those who only cut and paste opinions about phones they don't have.
You say something about iPhone which is factual and fair, and I would agree with you. You tell me for instance, antenna may be a problem in low signal areas under AT&T, I would say maybe, as I am not from there. If you say iPhone signal is a problem, period, then I would disagree, as from what I have read, and from my own personal experience, it works fine.
Fair way to approach things right? I like my PS3. I like that it is the platform of choice for me, who likes fighting games. Street Fighter 4, Tekken 6, and now the upcoming SF X Tekken and Tekken X SF. That doesn't mean PS3 is for everybody.
You tell me you prefer casual games on a Wii, I would say, personal choice, up to you. But if you say PS3 sucks, period, without any reason, surely I would respond another way too right?

FM Radio is available as an option for those who want it. It would be a waste to include it in 5 million iPhones, and only 1 million use it.
So the cost is reduced, and more efficient. Those who want radio, can easily buy a dongle such as iFM from Griffin and voila! FM Radio on iPhone.

[deleted post]He says that because too many comments here are about how iPhone has no signal. Frankly speaking the cat and mouse game is getting a bit lame. I'm guilty as well I suppose, but will try and focus on iPhone capabilities, or maybe cool apps after this.
