Anonymous, 20 Jul 2010You said because of the antenna design this is why its the ... moreYet the iphone4 is still thinner than the nokia e73.  Maybe not by much, but what do you think will happen if you try to squeeze in the hardware requirements of the iphone into your e73?  Do you think that your e73 would still be able to maintain it's slim figure with its internal antenna?

Let's try squeezing in these features to your e73 that requires hardware space.

    - 720p hd recording at 30fps
    - retina display resolution
    - gyroscope
    - 3.5 display
    - 32gb internal memory
    - 512mb ram
    - 1gz processor
    - proximity sensor
    - backlight camera technology
    - dual mics

Yes.  Put all of those features in the e73 and let's see if the e73 can still maintain its slim profile. Not intending to bash your e73 here. I just want to make a point that the iphone4 has way more higher hardware demands than the e73, yet it's able to be slimmer, thx to the external antenna design.

As for its reception, it's already getting a lot of impressive reviews, although they haven't really compared it with others (minus touching that black strip of course).  Regardless, it is a significant improvement from the 3gs, and that is reason enough to be happy.

Anonymous, 21 Jul 2010Exactly. 5 billion people use cell phones, Apple sold some.... moreBut not all 5 billion people use high end smartphones. The iphone which ever way you look at it belongs to the High end sector and judging by the figures released they certainly have a "DEATH GRIP" on that market sector.
Sure they got a few problems with the Iphone 4 but it's all about selling phones, if you don't sell, well let's just say ask Ollie Pekka Nokia CEO about to be ex'ed.
Like I said before am Nokia Share Holders would welcome Steve Jobs to be CEO with both open arms, legs butt chicks and all.

Pretty soon Apple will buy Nokia just to shut it down and clean the market of the crap phones they make.

So why do you think this new antenna design of apple is saving so much space to make a smartphone thinner.I'm sure nokia could make an e series at 9.3mm if they wanted to without this wrap around the side antenna idea.

The e73 is 1mm more at 10.2 and nokia didnt have to use that wrap around the side antenna.

Maybe the iphone4 has better reception then the 3gs when not touching that area but that doesnt mean it has better reception then any other smartphone out there.

                                      NEW IPHONE 4 PROBLEMS!

I heard there are new bugs with the Iphone 4's Proximity Sensor. The proximity sensor on the iPhone detects if your face is close to the screen, like it would be during a phone call. If it does so, the iPhone turns off its screen to avoid any accidental input and save power.

The proximity sensor issue manifests itself by the phone incorrectly assuming that you aren’t holding the phone up to your head and turning the screen back on. This happens in the middle of a call and often results in your cheek doing things on your phone without your knowledge.
