Who buys phones when they first come out? Everyone knows in the first few months there's always issues, usually with software, but reception doesn't surprise me with Apple at all. iPhone 3GS had issues with connecting to a network once the signal was lost.
If I were to buy an iPhone, it would be to use the apps not to call people. But maybe that's just because I have no friends...

Is funny to see ALL the sites giving their ass to Apple. With Gizmodo, Engadget, Cnet and many more filling their sites witht the iPhone 4 madness we are forgoting that is anonther mobile phone with NO revolutionary technology. The only thing is really revolutinary was the "Mmulti-Touch" screen, but nothing more,i dont know why atract so much attention to a regular cellphone. Watch out there of your "apple bubble", there are better phones thaht deserve more credit, like Nokia N8, SE Satio, Moto Roi and many more. Beside, that dumb thing in their promotional video that where Greg Joswiak says "We are bringing video calling to the world" WTF!?? video calling exist since 3g exist! Or this one, were Steve Jobs says "I grew up here in the US with the Jetsons ... dreaming about video calling and it's real now" HEY DUDE !! WEAKUP! over wifi or over 3g videocalling exist since 2005. Dont let the iPhone fever affect your mind. Is a pretty phone, but NOT the best has they sell it. I had iphone 3gs.. and.. humm.. i dont like it.

I have to agree, the thing with the antenna is a bit ridiculous. You don't really wanna pay £600 and it has signal problems. I have plenty other phones and they don't have this issue! "Even iPhone 2G"
But the phone is great, the display is a bit "greyer" than ones before. So it looks a bit darker and duller. The retina display has been proven to be wrong apparently. Who cares?
The iPad laks allot of things but hey!
Then Orange in UK has the white iPhone already, My partner's getting business packages from them and they offered the white as an option, in which they said they already have it!
I want the white because everybody has the black now, it's so last year!
Gets too many fingerprints on it! So everyone owning the black one don't forget to buy "INVISIBLE SHIELD BY ZAGG" great stick on covers, will prevent your new toy look better for longer hahah! Cause some people really take their stuff for granted!

You may look a little silly having to skud on gloves to make a call but trust me when you gloves are on nothing will make the fella drap anymore calls and I have even with the IGLOVES on call qualilty is so much better and FULL SIGNAL ALL THE WAY.
I opted for the gloves rather than the shielding case which I did not want

Who makes a phone with such a design flaw that it loses reception when you hold it the wrong way and does not recall it. Complete waste of money for the over expensive piece of crap and obviously crap quality.

Obviously retina display dont make much sense to me

Buy thick gloves and this will help the signal antena problems or just get a case for it.
I bought lefar gloves and I constantly hay full signal but sometimes when your texting with the gloves on it can be tricky but just make sure you chop the fingers off the gloves so then screen picks up your hook.

Several readers have reported that the iPhone 4 does make good on its promise of increased upload speeds over 3G. ZDNet posted some comparisons between the iPhone 3G and iPhone 4 using Speedtest.
I started noticing this on Thursday after I picked up the iPhone 4. The first bandwidth speed tests that I ran showed that I was getting much higher bandwidth numbers that I was used to seeing on AT&T. I was getting over 2 Mbps on downloads and over 700K on uploads.
The ZDNet author was unable to replicate the signal loss issue at his location (Louisville, Kentucky). How much you might individually benefit from the improved HSUPA depends on the status of your AT&T wireless network in your area.

I have this phone and all i can say to the people who are moaning about the signal issues would be to
GO TO B&Q and buy gloves and this will help signal issues and stop signal getting blocked but make sure you buy really thick gloves and hold the phone roughly 10 inches from your face depending the size of your head could cause signal issues.
Overall a good phone but signal issues is a problem but trust me nice gloves work a treat
