And for you who say a htc desire/nexus is better, do some research, iphone is better in screen res, cpu, gpu, optimised os(and they are working on android for iphone and better touchscreen since nexus and desire dont have real multitouch. If iphone had a AMOLED it would be a damn good phone, especialy when jailbroken(rooted).
Some people complain about the stocj iphone os not having a lot of functions but on my iphone I could do things a year ago that you still cant do on android. also when iphone has a 1ghz a4 and a galaxy s has a hummingbird the iphone will probably be faster because of software. and thats the power of apple: good design, good software, big community(hacks come really fast).

Also you said "mid range" phones. Omnia hd is not a mid range phone. Also, omnia hd can on record hd 720p in 24fps, not 30. It didn't have a 32gb internal memory. It didn't have a 1gz processor and it only had 256mb ram. It also didn't have the retina display's resolution, or a gyroscope. So I guess you are wrong in saying that everything that the iphone4 has can be found in phones two years ago :)

Gyroscope? Accelerometer? Proximity sensor? Retina display? 250,000 apps? Dual mic? Glass casing? 720hd recording at 30fps? 1gz processor? 512mb ram? Multi touch? Kinetic scrolling? Backlight illuminated lens? Native video editing?
Name me a mid range phone two years ago that has all of those features please, lol. The n95 obviously didn't have it.

Iphone4's display can definitely compete and can even be better than amoled displays. Read samsung wave's review in phone arena. It does not offer the same clarity as the iphone4 and has obvious pixelization, and cannot even surpass iphone 3g (not 3gs) outdoor legibility. That's the iphone 3g from 2 yrs ago ok. So I'd keep it low if I were you.

furthermore, it's LCD which wont compete with amoled screens, and samsung's super amoled definitely wins in this department, without a doubt.

This phone is good but my milestone is great.Well thats just my opinion.Even though i loved 3g, it didn't stayed for too long with me. Waiting to get my hands on this.
