You can do less with iphone and thats a fact. Multitasking is crap and so-so restricted...unless jailbroken.

Sorry but thats how this phone is and it will be d same for years unless apple listens to their costumers not their pockets.

At the end of the day, my firm opinion is that there is no ONE best smartphone, only one that serves you best. I like iPhone, but was previously a Palm, Sony and Nokia user. I have always gone for the phone that served me best, after carefully considering my needs and whether the phone served my needs best.

Android is actually fantastic in concept. And even in philosophy. The problem is that the implementation of the manufacturers leaves a lot to be desired, which is probably why Google merged with Motorola, as even Google conceded that like Apple, a great Android product would be through control over BOTH hardware and software.

"What I'm trying to get at is there is a perfect image of what Android is supposed to be, what Google and Android's staunchest adherents purport it TO BE, and then there is Android as it is practiced in REALITY.

Android as it is being sold to you by OEMs and wireless carriers is a lie. It is Android interpreted and regurgitated as perverted scripture from false prophets.

If Android were practiced by OEMs and carriers from a "fundamentalist" standpoint, then we would have no such thing as fragmentation, and it would not take months or the better part of a year to receive software updates after the latest code from Google is released."

It is actually the REASON Google maps is good, that is the data collected from users and search queries. Now however, that data and the search queries will npbe lost to Google and redirected to Apple instead. That's why Google has already submitted an app to Apple App Store. Lots of people will download Google maps as soon as it appears on App Store, but as Apple Maps improves, less and less people will do so.

In my opinion we are at a critical point for smartphones. iOS will probably maintain steady sales, but this may result in unchanged market share or even a reduction. WP8 however, will be the biggest winner at Android's expense with people switching wanting the benefits of iOS, but not fom Apple, with Nokia and HTC probably leading the way. Samsung will have to do more than just the ATIV if it wants a stake in the new WP8 world, or risk losing back share it won previously from Nokia.

Apple maps is cloud base and google also used and still using their own ppl to go to every roads also ppl using google service that is costumers. Ovbviously it will take time for apple to get into google's position but good for apple in sorting this out. If only they ask the costumers first rather than their own petty reasons. Poor apple followers.

People.... please stop trolling or bashing in this forum. It isn't polite. Some people like to use the iPhone for ease of usage. Remember, only a small percentage are those you call as tech savvy, therefore suitable to use android.

In the iPhone forums, i don't see much complaints as regards to OS crashing, lagging, apps freezing. Unlike those you see at android forums... people encounter real problems after sometime of use.

With regards to resale value... here in the Philippines... 2nd hand iphones still get a good price... while android phones gets sold really cheap.

Its easy to get a standard update of ios for all iPhones. While android phones don't even get a decent OS update due to diversity of models & makes.

So everything really boils down to Ease of functionality & usage.

As far as I have read, majority is still on Gingerbread, or haven't you heard? Is Jelly Bean going to be at 100 million users in a week? A month? Very doubtful.

Impressive figures for Android for sure, but the version breakdowns tell a worrying story for the platform. No wonder Android users are switching to iOS, and are also now very interested in WP8 with its instant upgrade.

NFC is fantastic technology and if it spreads in a huge manner, then iPhone will probably adopt it. Of course for those who would prefer having NFC, then it would be better to buy other than iPhone. There is no single best phone just the phone that serves you best.

Btw so its 100 Mill ppl ... moreMaps is a version 1.0 product which is crowd sourced, just like Google Maps is. Difference is, those 100 million users are now feeding data into Apple maps instead of Google Maps, believe me, Google will not one want to lose those users (and search queries) just like that, so before you know it, iPhone users will have both Apple maps and Google Maps on their phones, having the best of both worlds.
