This is a post in reply to a message on the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 forum on the same site. The reply was to a person who was unhappy that the decision Samsung made about the Note 5's integrated battery and SD card slot. He said he was going to buy an iPhone 6 S. This is my response (sorry it's long, but if you read it you will probably learn things you didn't know before):
So...you're saying that the ONLY reason you used a Samsung is because of the ability to change batteries and remove the SD card? You are going to switch to an iPhone because you are mad, just like I was. I am also a deep fan of those things and said the same thing when I heard the mortifying news. I am a proud owner of a Note 5, a considerable upgrade from a Note 2. Here is why I decided to buy it. I did some research and realized that there are very good reasons they did this.
For one, batteries (especially 3rd party ones) have caused safety issues. I had 2 replacement batteries that I switched out regularly, effectively not having to charge my phone...ever! But, the batteries were starting to swell and the battery contacts were being rubbed out. Eventually, I was getting undesirable battery life. It was bad and inconsistent. I expected some loss of battery life with age of the phone, but it was bad.
SD cards can be corrupted or damaged, especially since many people don't always treat them with care EVERY time they remove it and replace it. Also, by switching out SD cards frequently (and like batteries), the contacts degraded little by little. It can take longer to transfer data to and from it and can also damage files as its being transferred, possibly losing something forever. I've had this happen with my Note 10.1 (2014 edition) tablet and other smartphones (rarely did this happen with my Note 2 due to usually using the same SD card only so I did not do much switching.) ALSO, an integrated SD card means more speed and allows the design of the phone to be slimmer (weight and size is not a deal breaker for me, so I don't really care that its slimmer and lighter, but some people do.)
Although I am a Samsung Android powered phone fan, I cannot say anything bad about the iPhone, except for the questionable hardware quality. Especially compared to Samsung flagship phones. No matter what anyone says, the iOS is a top-notch operating system. But that's what people are really paying a premium price for, its not the hardware. They simplified the whole experience (which works for most people), but effectively restricts much of what you can do with the phone. Of course, there are good reasons for that too. Like, keeping the integrity of the OS intact (which is one reason why its closed-source). I happen to do more than menial tasks and use my device to its full potential. My wife, on the other hand, bought an iPhone and hardly uses any features. (She only bought it because most people she knows has them and she likes using Face Time, which is a probably the most polished video chat app available so far, so I can understand why.) My step-dad stopped using Android phones and bought an iPhone for simplicity. I am not a simple guy and I am deeply into technology. I am not a self-proclaimed expert, nor am I saying that one is better than the other. But I do know what I'm saying (or I wouldn't say anything) and I keep up with technology and love to play with phones (locked or unlocked). You don't have to take my word for it, play with both products THEN you have appropriate ammo toward the other products. Most people just don't know anything about cell phones, even though they think they do. I know this because I frequently ask people about what they like about their phone. Most iPhone users say its because of simplicity and because many other people they know own one. Most die-hard Android phone owners say its because of what they can do with it and how they like the features (besides the bloatware and other pre-loaded proprietary brand apps.) While iOS runs more fluidly, and can do so with much less RAM and processing power, it is mostly due to limited processes versus extra processes that people don't always use running in the background on Android phones. This is a user preference as the iOS offers limited features (unless you root it.) Most flagship Android phones come with a plethora of customization and features without rooting it. Also, keep in mind that Android is an open source with its own cons and pros. A important con is that not all phones will work the same because Android is incorporated into so many different phones with different hardware and different customized user interfaces that are specific to that particular model of the phone. People like iPhone and I can see why, but Android is not going anywhere because of Apple. There is a reason why there is a close competitive race between the two. It's because they both work great for different things that interest a particular user.
WHAT I DON'T LIKE ABOUT APPLE--is the way they don't care about their customers or people in general. They are money-hungry dirt bags. Don't believe me? Then, why can't iPhone owners get insurance on their phones when everyone else can? And though you can now with the very few companies like SquareTrade, you couldn't before. Apple only offers an extended warranty past the 1-year warranty for an additional year and does not cover accidental damage at all.There may be more reasons than I know why this didn't happen, but the fact remains that broken iPhone users have to buy another product at retail (or did for a long time, unless they already have a plan with an insurance company that I don't believe is offered with the purchase of the phone. Meaning you will have to search for it and sign up without a service provider.
What most people might not know is that the same companies that manufacture the electronics and other hardware for these phones are usually the same that supply almost all branded phones. For the most part, Samsung, Apple, and other smartphone makers buy their hardware from others. So, why are iPhones users getting questionably less hardware than Samsung's devices that are priced the same? Again, I'm trying to stay objective with these two companies and their devices, and although what is on a spec sheet cannot always determine the best operation for a device when flagship phones are compared, there are considerable advantages to owning each phone. For me, its the S Pen. lol Can't live without it! If you think that iPhone can compete with that by using a stylus or your finger, then I don't think you have properly tested the Note's very capable and cool S Pen. There is a big difference. P.S. If you reply to this post, please don't presume you know more than you do. If you have never tried the other product, don't knock it. If you have done NO research, then don't try to denounce anything I've said. If you have properly done both, then we can have a credible discussion. "I don't like iPhones because they're stupid" is not an acceptable response. Educate yourselves, then you will have credibility to your convictions and many will take you more seriously. (This message is for everyone; I am not trying to single you out or say that you don't know anything. I am simply asking that you explore more information to find exactly why these companies do what they do. Many people frequently think companies make stupid mistakes, and sometimes they do, but the people who make the decisions are rich and very much intelligent and they didn't get to where they are at by not knowing what they are doing.)

How u can say about bad battery life?! Logically iphone isn't good for playing because of small screen, smaller battery because of thin dimension, you don't need a thicker phone to your pocket right?! Be a gentleman, if you want to play go buy a tablet or a sony playstacion, and forget the worry about the battery, don't play in iphone or watch long videos or films about hours. The iphone is just enough for texting, emails, photoshooting, watching short videos, playing light games and the battery will last a day about no worry, i'm not saying just for iphones, but for every smartphone because it's smart, and designed to be good at hand and to your pocket. You wanna have a phone with high specs, then go buy a 15mm thicker phone with 5000 mah and 6 inch screen but then u got a horrible thing, just not seeing good at the hand and not fitting to your pocket. Every phone has a good battery life notably when used normal but some people don't know what they are looking for, they buying wrong thing. That's why some people are satisfied with the battery life and some are having a issue. The same phone can't be different, but the user is different. When it's come to battery life, iphones are just amazing. The stand by mode is wonderfull and when it used normal it lasts all day even considering smaller battery because it has less pixel per inch. Samsung phones aren't better than apples even with bigger battery capacity because of high pixel per inch, the battery drains quicker and the stand by mode is not good. Im satisfied with my iphone 6, haven't any complain, very efficient, very fast, no lag, long lasting enough.

iPhone is the greatest ok , but should we run as per requirement of phone or phone should run on our terms :-
1. install itunes for transfer of contents ;
2. No option for external sd card;
3. No file manager ;
4. Apps download restrictions on size;
5. No bluetooth transfer or other means except iPhone - iPhone.
6. Extremely expensive with all the above constraints.
Yes, I do had used iPhone once but the constraints are very odd.
