But, because probably you are talking about second hand iPhone Xr, I will suggest to go with a second hand iPhone 11. The difference in price is not that big (in second hand market), but you are getting a better phone all around (minus the display, which is practically identical).

This phone deserves a successorIt has a successor. Is called iPhone 11. Is not super big improvement, but is still a better phone all around. I mean, if you are into LCD displays and all.
iPhone Xr can still be used for another year. I am guessing Apple will drop the axe on it with IOS 18 next year. But iPhone 11 is 2 years usage phone. That means until 2025.

iPhone XR was supposed to be the ‘budget’ colourful model, but it’s really the OG release and origin of the 11,12,13,14.
Hexa core still slaps and A12 was a huge jump from A10/A11 compared to current gens improvement.
Some people prefer IPS panel over OLED, this phone is just a workhorse for its age, so point upgrading if you have this model until at least 15+
