The so-called chargegate is indeed a software-related issue and has nothing to be with the charging cable, brick or lightning port. Apple made some changes as belong to encryption in iOS 12 and it might be the defective software related to it that cause this malfunction. They surely will fix this in the next update

This iPhone is the one I'm eyeing because it's the smallest of the three and I might need that extra gig of RAM compared to the XR in the longer run. But the A12's 15% CPU gain from its predecessor is the smallest in recent memory.

Unless you still have a 5s/6/6s/SE, you really wouldn't feel any difference in performance. I think even having a 7, the difference would still feel negligible. Apple really nailed SoC with the A9 chip. Apple has now stretched necessary upgrade cycles from 2 to 4.

i don't know why They always give poor battery capacity which don't go more than 90+ endurance.
Or maybe it is iPhone's feature that suits it, to have low battery with low endurance rating.

SocialClimber101, 24 Sep 2018Guys, in my own humble opinion, I don't think people here s... moreAfter paying 1150 Euros you need to understand that 300MB ram comprising to 10MB & Battery endurance rate at 72, look at Honor Play and poco F1 endurance rate is above 90+,
Looking at build quality and RAM management we won't do much with multi tasking after paying such a huge money, yes I do agree no one forcing me to buy iPhone nor paying me to write this, atleast don't come with defending logics to make iPhone a superior phone ever than other phone, it doesn't do some of the basics which android does

Chris Apple, 29 Sep 2018Well it depends on what you want: Note9 - More features (... moreThank you

sam sa, 29 Sep 2018Hi I want to buy a phone but I'm confused between note 9 ... moreWell it depends on what you want:
              Note9
              - More features (2 apps for everything: one by google the other by samsung)
              - Productivity tool (S pen functionality)
              - Better battery life
              - Larger screen
              Xs
              - Better speed (the fastest CPU right now)
              - Better camera
              - Better screen (although smaller)
              - Sluggish charge (5W vs 10W of Note9)
              - More secure authentication (fingerprint reader is more convenient though)

Both cost about the same though, at USD 999, GBP 1099 or EUR 1099

                  Hi
I want to buy a phone but I'm confused between note 9 and iphone xs. I don't know about phones that's why I need your advice so please help me
                  Thanks

Picked up an XS last Saturday coming off a Nokia 920. Screen is great, very bright and sharp. Video playback is near perfect. Body size is just right. The Plus/max phones are just a bit too wide and tablet-like for me. The XS is the same width as my 920 with a body about half an inch taller with a screen about an inch and a half taller. Comparing the screen to my mom's 8 Plus they are very comparable in clarity, color, and brightness. The XS's AMOLED might have a slight edge but there will be burn in sooner or later... suffered that fate with my Nokia 808. I'd rather it have an LCD for longevity if it were the quality of the 8 Plus's screen. Lack of home button is an improvement, can't stand it on my mom's phone. Notch isn't distracting IMO, adds a little style for good or bad depending on your taste. Without it, the phone would look a little plain. iOS 12 is snappy, not much to complain about. Battery life is acceptable but not great. The 920 does have some features that I miss but the XS kills it overall of course. I miss the 3.5mm jack most of all. Haven't tested out the camera much but a couple shots turned out nice. Overall, the XS won't disappoint but it's not cheap. With the higher price comes a very cohesive package in terms of hardware and software, design and function. Not perfect but no phone is.

Then, we all shouldn't complain anything on all other Android smartphone out there when it is not Apple's iPhone, where each of the Android smartphone out there regardless of pricing is decent enough in their own.
Owning an Android smartphone is not low class either, especially the cheaper one.

Anonymous, 27 Sep 2018It's barely an iterative upgrade from the X, however if you... moreAndroid are for long term investment too.
I got a Samsung S4 Active from 5 years ago, it is still working today.
Yes, it is being stuck at Android 5.1.1, but it never is unsupported, all of it's functionality including NFC is still working, OTG, Bluetooth, Micro SD card, apps also can be upgrade without any issue. It also got the removable battery, I got replace it with an OEM brand battery and it is working like new. This one is also a rare breed where it spot a LCD rather than AMOLED, which doesn't has the AMOLED phosphor short lifetime degrade issue. It only loose on black level, but everything on it is fantastic, look as good as first time bought it. I give it to my family member. This is one of the very first phone to support the 4G network in my country.
Longevity you say for only iPhone? Don't make me started again.

It's barely an iterative upgrade from the X, however if you've got an older model and money to burn, I think it's worth it. iPhones are a long-term investment. They have better longevity and regular updates compared to a lot of android phones that become unsupported after a few years.

My dystopian hypothesis about the perfect smartphone is kinda crazy. I imagine Samsung & Apple working together to create Sample Galaxy iPhone Pro 5.8", Pro 6.5", Air 4.7" and Air 6.1".

Year: 2021, month: September, day: 13
Sample just announced its first smartphones called: Galaxy iPhone Pro 5.8", Pro 6.5", Air 4.7" and Air 6.1".

Pro line-up utilizes MicroLED screen technology made by Apple in cooperation with Samsung. The screen comes in two sizes, 5.85" and 6.46" with resolutions of 1500 x 3248 and 1656 x 3584 respectively. These resolutions are 1/4 larger than 2018 iPhone Xs series and 2019 iPhone Pro series resolutions. Screens have no notch, while every tech employed for facial scanning, front cameras, and proximity and light sensors hidden underneath the screen, while front earpiece cutout is present. These phones have two speakers placed symmetrically diagonally on top left and on the bottom right of the frame. Both speakers have Quad DAC. Screen refresh rate is 120Hz. Processors for these phones are made by Apple, and manufactured via Samsung 1 nm FinFET tech. SA X1 Cerebral Chip has nearly 22 billion transistors in an area less than a square centimetre. It have a 10-core processor in a four + six configuration. Apple designs two of the large cores along six efficient ones, while Samsung designs two other performance cores. The chip runs in a base frequency of 3.11 GHz and uses Apple Jupiter Storm cores only on extremely heavy tasks and opening large apps, while two other Cosmic Wind cores by Samsung are used on medium and heavy tasks, while six efficiency Gamma-Ray cores are used on every other tasks. These smartphones have two main snappers on the back each 20Mp. 20Mp wide angle, OIS, with variable aperture f/1.2, 1.3, 1.5, 1.8, 2.0, 2.4 & 2.8, sensor size 1/2.15 and 1.5 micron pixels, 24mm. 20Mp telephoto, OIS, with variable aperture f/1.8, 2.0, 2.4 & 2.8, sensor size 1/2.15 and 1.5 micron pixels, 72mm, 3x optical zoom. On the front are two more snappers of 12Mp res. each. 12Mp OIS, with aperture f/1.8 sensor size 1/2.55 and 1.4 micron pixels, 32mm. 12Mp ultra wide angle, OIS, with aperture f/2.4 sensor size 1/3 and 1.22 micron pixels, 16mm. Batteries are Li-Po 3144 and 3621 mAh respectively. These phones have no ports of any kind, USB or audio jack, only charge via fast wireless charging, 22.5W, and have highest IP rating ever in a smartphone, IP69K, certified for pressures up to 2ATM and 3 hours. These phones made by titanium frame and front and back Corning Gorilla Glass 8, scratch proof and shatter resistant sapphire-fibre glass alloy of up to 2m and 8 drops. RAM is 12GB and storage comes in three configuration 512GB, 2TB and 3TB

Air line-up is all about being slim but with less battery and relatively lower battery life. They drop a few of the above features like MicroLED for OLED, titanium for aluminium, Face ID 3.0 for in-display fingerprint reader, less RAM (8 GB), less storage options (256GB, 1TB & 2TB). 4.7” is slightly larger than iPhone 5 models and 7.6mm thick while Air 6.1” has curved screen and 6.7mm thick.

It is funny to read Apple apologizist comment, and also those comes to bash this iPhone XS from Android user.
For Android user, no need bash this phone. You don't have compare your Android smartphone to iPhone, both are good in their own way.
For Apple apologizist, your iPhone until the end will be just another smartphone. Nothing wrong with iPhone, just that their price isn't for the term "affordable". Owning an iPhone doesn't makes you become a better person, it is just down to personal choices.

Hi ! Coming from a 2013 Lumia 1520 :D this year I chose to upgrade andature " , for me it's still a two moves process , you might feel differently . I paid the my choice was the iPhone Xs. You might wonder why I chose this over the Xs Max :| well for me it was simple : ergonomics , fooling around with a 7 Plus for a couple of months I realised that the phone is too big for me , and I was already sick of using my phone with two hands when the task can be easily be conducted with one , you might say " there is a reachability feXs almost 1200 € , and I know that I could have found a X for 250 € less ( from shady dealers ) or 150 € ( from a more trusty seller ) but for me the following updates were worth the price : Better LTE and Wifi , better Speaker , more luminous and better calibrated screen , a faster processor , in my opinion an improved cameras , in the long run possibly a year more in updates , improved performance ( Processor and RAM ) , faster Face ID , slightly but better battery life , the gorilla Glass 6 and the IP68 rating. If this comment helps you then I am glad ^^

Techs Teacher, 25 Sep 2018I was see different specifications in both iPhone XS and iP... moreThe screen size difference is main reason why the max is more of a better choice. If don't like big screen people should go for the original iPhone x. Much lower price and apple 5 year software support so no problem. Don't make sense to spend so much more for the xs.
