@Dhara I am sure that by the time the battery gets old, in like 2 years or more, you will be looking for your next phone so there should be no problems as long as you have it. However if you plan to use it for a really long time or maybe you just want to be able to remove your battery by yourself, then search "asus fonepad disassemble" in google or youtube and give it a try! I want to buy this device in next month but please let me know that if there is a non-removable battery than in future some problems occur with d battery than what to do a device is fail???????/ or we can change the battery like mobile????

baal, 13 Jul 2013Got the phoblet about 5 days ago updated to 3.r2.3 immediat... moreI have to say this is a great little unit for the price (about $240 USD). I wasn't shopping for a phone, but was shopping for a tablet and the price for the Asus tablet and Fonepad was too good to pass up.
For those of you who insist that all devices running Android OS lag you need to test out this device first hand. This is my first mobile device with "Intel Inside" and I was surprised how fast it is. Very fast, zero lag.
One thing I notice immediately about phones is how well/poorly the display is in bright sunlight. Happy to find that the screen on this is easy to read in bright sunlight (I have a BB Z10 and it has an ips display and also performs well in bright sunlight - I'm sure this is not a coincidence so if this is important to you take note: IPS display).
I have been using this phone for everything except work (Blackberry required) and have zero complaints and zero problems. So I'm not sure why so many negative comments here (probably the majority are trolls as the info seems to be overly vague or just plain inaccurate in most cases).
Asus has done a good job with their firmware and custom UI upgrades and I haven't run into any problems. So, for the person having problems with v3.2.3, I upgraded to V3.2.3-20130603 and am not having any problems more than 1 month later.
Yes, it has wifi hotspot capabilities and works well as have all the Android phones I've owned (Samsung, LG, Sony, HTC)

The argument, which you are giving, are biased and untrue.You advised me to buy so many things to cover the fault of this device. Add all the amount yourself and you will know how ASUS is ditching customer by fake advertising and people like you are advocating them. Yes i can buy many things with the money that you consider i have saved(really???) by buying this **** TAB. But What about the concept of one device for all your multimedia needs? IF it is all about saving money and buying different devices with saved money, then why purchase this tablet? Opt for tablet with lesser price (may be without calling facility but good processor) and also get a phone for remaining price!!! Leave it man...you will not understand...and yes your education/qualification is not my business as now i know you are an agent of ASUS (based on your advice to other people too) and you know nothing about technology...
About poor daylight view: what you advise that i should search for a tree or roof?? this comment shows your geniuses in judging a device on its merit. But also think about people using GPS on streets...
About Earphone/Headphone/Handsfree: Use this device for call and you will also feel the need for one...i was not asking so many thing..i was just telling that you will need one of them and neither of them is given by ASUS
PS: Being sarcastic does not make you genius and this device good...so mind your language
PPS: Don't make it ugly...give counter argument if and only if ready for unbiased review
@people interested in buying a tablet: Do not go for Fonepad, the device as well as after-sell service are equally bad.

Got the phoblet about 5 days ago updated to 3.r2.3 immediatly and experienced a lot of freezes. It did respond again after a restart, but wth? Reflashed the firmware, but still freezes/crashes. Guess i've got a faulty unit.
