i've purchased this unit asus fonepad7 but unfortunately it was stolen. I wish to know how to block this unit. please help me. thanks alot..

Overall great product that works as a tablet and removes the need to carry another phone with you. I have owned this fonepad three months now and only problem has been with this recent update that disabled phone and messaging.

I updated Fonepad 7 to firmware 89MB package (KVT49L.WW_epad-V6.4.2-20140820) and now only 3g is working. Unable to use it for calls,messages or USSD. No solution found so far. Tweeted to Asus India but no response

I do face this problem after my FonePad 7 is updated at 7 September 2014 I can't make any call n doesn't rcv any call pls do something fast Asus
Pls give us another update bcuz it shows 6.4.2 version but in about it shows 4.4.2 version actually

The ones experiencing the firmware problem, kindly wait for the android update 4.4.4 . This problem is arising due to the firmware version being of 4.4.4 but other still 4.4.2. The problem will be resolved soon.

After an upgrade of about 89MB i was not able to get 3g signals. I reported it to ASUS care center and they asked me to reset the tablet. Once i did same i am not able to get 2G signal. I request all users to report same issue to customer care. They always ask you to reset tablet. Do not reset it if you are getting 2g signals.

For those who receive the message that the connection to the net is bad or the server is busy and so can't upgrade
I found a method on the net that worked for me
1. Go to settings
2. Apps
3. Go to All
4. Down to DMclient and clear data then force stop
5. Restart the tab
6. Back to settings-Apps-All-then CMclient and clear cash and force stop
7. Go and update :-)
If this is your first time you'll get an updated jelly bean twice before you get the kit Kat which is what I'm using now :-)
Unfortunately every time you go through all this to upgrade

i too updated asus fonepad 7 yesterday. cannot now make or receive calls! cannot send or receive texts!! factory resetting hasn't helped.
giffgaff apn's tediously re entered but to no avail.
my sim card works fine in a standby samsung galaxy ace
mobile internet, calls, & texts all magically work on samsung.
sorry asus you've just bricked my fonepad???

Exactly the same problem. Updated firmware to 6.4.2 and now can't make/receive calls or texts. Says sim card network error. Was working perfectly before update. Very annoyed. Doesn't do this with all mobile carriers - wife's sim still works, but mine and my son's don't.

mine has got that update today in serbia, it's working much better,faster no prob. at all, bigger icons, better network signal,more functions at taskmanager,more auto brightness, better file manager,etc,, bravo asus for the updates.till now :-)

i am getting the mobile network for tata docomo only bars are present internet 3g is also working but no calls are coming nor going nor message is not working after doing that 89mb firmware update. my version i got is 6.4.2.
MY WIFE ALWAYS TELLS GO FOR REPUTED BRAND......SAMSUNG OR SONY .....ASUS IS A CRAP......
