Redz, 06 Aug 2022Really it gone?Do not buy ASUS ROG phones. Literally any ROG phones. I bought ROG 2 and ROG 5, both are really defective. My ROG 2 lasts for about 12 months only, after that it is not working anymore. While my ROG 5, after 12 months, it losses its signal, defective gestures, defective software, and hardware, etc. And not only that, sometimes it dies too. Do not waste your money on ROG phones. It's just a scam. A defective piece of tech from ASUS. What a shame.

Some function not working after Security Patch download (Especially Wifi and Hotspot Function) Totally Dead after using several day. And got a same trouble after trying update Again.

Used it for 6 months. It has great specs on paper and stylish. But after update, the phone would freezes after screen unlocked. Easily less than 5 secs but this lagging is unbearable especially someone called. Many times it forces me to call back due to missed calls. This is a very serious flaw and I had to dump it and went for other phone with less specs without any issues. Sorry Asus, I must say I don't hv any good user experience with your phone. Sorry.

This is a great gaming phone, i have this phone for 10 months, i play game more than 4 hours a day without cooler, even the temperature hit 45 degrees its work without problem...

ROG phone 5 is defective in mobile data??
My data plan is Maxis, but everywhere is no line or weak signal. And I keep complained to Maxis and changed Sim Card, but at the end is still same. My friend using Maxis line is smooth, but only me is no line& no internet.
Is it Asus ROG phone 5 problem? And should I go to service center for repair? Or it is a defective of ROG phone 5?

I've used mine since launch. Excellent. I have only three problems: first, cellular network/data reception is not great ( I practically use wifi with it.) Secondly, it overheats while gaming (not unbearable though). There's no IP rating. Every other thing is excellent.

+ Excellent all around phone for gaming and daily use. Excellent design, very sharp, manly. No notch or punchole!!! Large but thin, fits nicely in the pocket. DC dimming - no eye sore due to AMOLED. Excellent system (Zen UI) on Android 11 with tons of options and personalizations, not seen on any phone. That's the reason i use Asus for years. Absolutely amazing sound, if not the best of any phone. It blows you off. Huge battery. LED light, double charging port etc. Performance shouldn't even be mentioned. It's more than enough even on lowest TDP.
- Lack of OIS (excellent pictures in daylight, medium to mediocre in low-light). I know this is a gaming phone, but pairing IMX686 with an optical image stabilizer would have made for great picture experience all around and make the phone attractive to non-gamers and other enthusiasts and power-users as well, allowing it to better compete with Pixel, One plus and so on).
After all, it is a MUST have on a phone at this price.
- Super-sensitive screen (a plus for gaming, but easily reacts to unintentional and accidental touches when not).

Battery drains fast also excessive heating. Brand new. Such a waste of money and time. I went to service center for phone replacement but still the same issue

not recommend buy this rog 5. my rog 5 have issues with motherboard and still repair in service center.
