Considering this and the vanilla variants are available NOW for whatever reason, here's what ROG should do next year:
Asus ROG phone 6:
Dimensity 9000 with all the LTE/5G bands available
Same specs as the 5s only swap the IMX main with Omnivision's 64MP lens and upgrade the selfie to 32MP while allowing 4K@60fps for selfie video/live streaming.
Can be sold for $750 for 8GB RAM/128GB storage with a 12GB RAM/256GB variant at $900 (the only version for the US).
Asus ROG phone 6 Pro:
Same as above only swap Dimensity with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and swap the macros with an 8MP telephoto cam with OIS. Also, have the IMX sensor make its return.
Can be sold for $1,100 for the base 12GB RAM/256GB storage with $1,250 for the 16GB RAM/512GB variant.
Asus ROG phone 6 Ultimate:
Same as above only swap the 8 Gen 1 with the plus variant and add OIS to the main camera as well as mmWave.
The one 18GB RAM/1TB variant could go for $1,450 (which sounds like a lot but its an overall specs beast). This obviously means this phone would be released later in the year when the + processor is released.
They don't need any more than that.

1299 for a regular gaming phone that literally does the same thing as other phones? I'd rather buy a gaming laptop at that price.

Your ideal phone won't exist for a long time, if a 512 GB phone won't satisfy you, then I don't know what will.

also for the asking pays price the best we can get is only a poor 500gb of storage
add 1tb and 2tb storage options
we need them for games and emulators + fans
gaming phones should have very high storage

ASUS has dropped the ball with ROG 5 series multiple times. Not keeping their loyal customer up-to-date with the release dates of the ROG 5 pro/ultimate versions and now with 5S Pro
It's like they enjoy making prototype and take pleasure in making their customers suffer in wait...pathetic ASUS
