I have an AD WIFI router but this phone is not detecting the 60GHz SSID. Am I missing something? Is the AD wifi built-in to the phone or a gaming accessory?

Anonymous, 02 Dec 2019i'm buying it as soon as it is released in Europe Are you not worried about the specifications on Asus own website that I mentioned regarding it (ROG Phone II Strix Edition) and that it might be a direct copy of the Asian "Tencent Edition" model? If that is the case it lacks several LTE bands support for stable 4G connection (still might work fine in some countries) and it also has lower maximum speed for your LTE connection... The differences between "Elite Edition" and "Tencent Edition" models are as follows:
"Elite Edition" (Global model)
4G : LTE Cat18 – 211 Mbps UL, 1.2 Gbps DL
WiFi : 802.11ad, 4×4 MIMO (4 antennas)
"Tencent Edition" (Asian model)
4G : LTE Cat16 – 150 Mbps UL, 1.0 Gbps DL
WiFi : 802.11ac, 2×2 MIMO (2 antennas)

Anonymous, 29 Nov 2019Guys i need your opinion wether to choose rog phone 2 tence... moreASUS ROG Phone 2 is currently on Android 9.
However, I don't think there will be any issue if the ASUS ROG Phone 2 doesn't get much updates compare to Oneplus 7T as it won't cause any issue regarding the usage.
It is safe to say that Android 9 will still be supported even 2 to 3 years later, there won't be any compatibility issue regarding the features, since user mostly is using apps rather than rely on the Android owns' feature to expand the smartphone usability. Many apps actually run pretty fine under Android 5.1.1. Those apps that you can install in Play Store are actually being created with compatibility with older Android OS in mind. In this regards, Oneplus 7T only win over ASUS ROG Phone 2 with it's stock Android experience and fast Android OS updates, then other features on ASUS ROG Phone 2 are more superior than Oneplus 7T.

Has anyone else got their eyes on the cheaper "Strix Edition" model that is being released globally (I think?) with a 128 GB storage and 8 GB RAM configuration? I noticed it first on Asus own website and there are also two recommended retailers in my country (Sweden) which has it as an upcoming product! The price is set at approximately €630/$730 which is a fair bit lower compared to the "Elite Edition" 512 GB model which goes for €950/$1050 here in Sweden at least...
What makes me a bit skeptical however is that if you go into the specifications listed for the "Strix Edition" model on Asus website it says it only has Cat 16 LTE speeds and a limited LTE band network support just like the "Tencent Edition" model that was released in the Chinese market.... This begs the question if they have just made a copy of the Tencent model and named it differently for the global market? Seems strange to me if Asus would release this as a global model when it doesn't have full network band support in all countries but since the specifications on their own website says so it sure makes you wonder!
The "Ultimate Edition" model with 1 TB storage and 12 GB RAM and Cat 20 LTE speed support is also upcoming with a price point around €1040/$1150 which if you ask me makes the "Elite Edition" model at €950/$1050 seem quite expensive since for just $100 extra you get a whopping 500GB extra storage as well as higher LTE speed support with Cat 20 on the "Ultimate Edition" compared to the Cat 18 support that the "Elite Edition" model has...

For the photos I don't understand what you mean by not saving properly. All my photos goes into the correct folder. Calls wise, I have no issue as there are like 3 or 4 mics to help in noise cancellation. My voice do not break. At least it is performing better than my iPhone X (I am not Android fanboy. By no means am I saying iPhone X is a lousy phone. It is a great phone just that I like front blasting speakers and no notch).

Again I am not so much affected by updates so definitely ROG Phone 2 for me. I am using it and I am very very satisfied so far.
Do note though, there is no perfect phone. There will always be something you do not like about a phone,

Guys i need your opinion wether to choose rog phone 2 tencent version or oneplus 7T since they're priced almost the same in my region.. Between the 2, the rog is clearly superior in terms of specs and performance.. But i want a phone that i can use for the next 2 to 3 years.. Oneplus is known for having software updates and being buttery smooth even after couple of years of usage.. I'm worried about future of rog phone 2 since i heard that the rog phone 1 is not having any software updates anymore

jamesabraham, 28 Nov 2019I want to ask if Asus added the MicroSD card slot, would it... moreIt wouldn't slow down the phone. However if you're reading/writing to the memory card often, then the performance drop is obvious. Imagine moving all your games onto the microSD card - the loading times etc. Very sluggish!
I have over 9000 images/videos in my main camera folder. (I like to keep all my memories since I've had the Samsung Galaxy S3) and the folder loads the thumbnails instantly. Even if I scroll down slowly or fast, all the thumbnails are displayed very fast. On a microSD card at whatever the speed rating is, it will take some time to load.
