justasmile, 26 Feb 2024Just because of a pathetic microSD card slot and hole punch... morePeople forget the type C ports on phone do atleast 5gbps data transfer rates and have active and passive passthrough so actually makes sd card slot and jack pointless, portable ssd and getting a dongle which good companies supply with the phone (so not apple, samsung, pixels and xperia phones) which is the way to go, probably same people who prefer horse and carriage over an eletric car.

Not sure why you'd need one though: 512GB of storage is more than 99% of people are likely to use, and it's not really a reliable backup solution either (I've had a 60% failure rate, and yes I was using reputable brands from reputable sources, and I wish I was joking given the data I lost). If you need a backup just get a USB drive, Android doesn't let you do anything useful with storage expansion to begin with.

Anonymous, 13 Feb 2024Surely it will have a micro sd slot.Zenfones removed the card slot with Zenfone 8. Zenfone 6 is still the best: dedicated sdcard slot (+ 2 active SIMS at the same time), no hole in the screen, headphone jack, (was) bootloader unlockable. Asus has fallen since.

SURELY they would accidentally include that with this phone, right? It won't just be the same motherboard in a different shell, right?

These specs can't be final right? It's just identical specs to an ROG Phone 8 but less features like side USB C and triggers, and a lower refresh rate screen, hardly something to call "Ultra"...
Don't get me wrong, the ROG 8 is probably a REALLY good overall phone, but having Zenfone 11 Ultra be lower spec than ROG 8 which is lower spec than ROG 8 Pro feels a bit... wrong and backwards.

If they're stuck with a 32MP tele sensor, I hope they offer a full output, or swap it out for a 64MP tele (16MP binned) instead. I don't care about hybrid zoom but the minimum of a telephoto should be 10MP or 12MP, 8 megapixels is pathetic on almost any phone (unless we're talking the Xiaomi K30 Pro Zoom or the Xperia 10 line, which gets a pass). That's why the OnePlus 11 was a dealbreaker - but the 12 is in my sights because 16MP is a lot more to work with.
Also, I know 50MP has been Asus's thing since the Zenfone 9, but if they don't go for a 64MP tele then they should use 64 for the main sensor. It's supposed to be an Ultra phone.
