I personally prefer Li-ion than Li-po in terms of battery life. Take for example: Zenfone 6 and Xperia t2 ultra. Both have the same screen size, same screen resolution and same battery capacity, but zenfone 6 uses Li-po and t2 ultra uses Li-ion. Guess which one got better endurance rating?
Zenfone 6 can manage 1 to 1.5 days of moderate use, compared to t2 ultra which can manage up to 2 or even 3 days.
If you notice, majority of high-end devices today from samsung and sony xperia uses Li-ion, and both of them deliver great battery performance. I think the only reason why Asus keeps on using Li-po is because the design of Zenfones have curvy back, just like HTC. I read somewhere online that Li-po can be shaped according to the manufacturer's liking. Unlike Li-ion which can only be shaped rectangular.

What do you mean by that, Li-Po batteries are better than Li-ion batteries

I read on a fan site for the zenfone series, that the 1080p/1.8GHz/2GB/32GB version scored a little over 8 hours of movie playback. They said that without power-saving features enabled and wifi and stuff on, it dropped 4% in 9 hours. They also said that once the data and wifi and other stuff was all off, it stayed at 90% for 9 hours.
Nice.
I only expect the ZE550ML to be even better for non-calling use times, like 10 hours video/web browsing, and like at least 18 hours calling. I figure a GSMArena endurance rating of like 75+ hours on this version :-)

nick, 05 Apr 2015guys this phone is superb. only con which might be on this... moreI personally think battery life may not be an issue on this variant of zenfone2...bcz it has 720p res. whereas the high end zenfone2 has 1080p res. though both having same battery.So battery life will be longer on this version because less pixels to push on screen.

How is the sound quality of this phones? Does it good like ZE551ml or almost the same because they have same sound chip/speaker as its cpu/gpu????? and how is the display does it comparable with 5inches with 720p reso. consediring that it is a big phone equep with 5.5inchs in a 720p resolution?
